N'Sync are performing tonight at the MTV Video Music Awards. A possibility of their reunion has been fuelled by their new Twitter account, one which links the pop group's singers together.

The group joined the social networking site yesterday (24th August) and have already gained over 120 000 followers. The group have tweeted once writing, "mic check, mic check one.. two... is this thing on?!"

The page is connected to all of the group's individual twitter pages. N'Sync separated in 2002 and comprised of: Justin Timberlake, Jc Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick. Bass later confirmed the N'Sync account was official, adding "happy weekend everyone!"

N'Sync will be joining Justin Timberlake on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards, held tonight at the Barclay's Centre in Brooklyn. Since news of the group's performance broke, rumours have spread like wild fire, suggesting a reunion is imminent. Bass, speaking on his SiriusXm radio show, entitled Dirty Pop with Lance Bass,  said simply because the N'Sync had been spotted together and are performing together does not mean a reunion is in the works.

Nevertheless for fans of the boy band, this is still a momentous occasion. It has been more than a decade since the group's last televised performance at the 2003 Grammy Awards. The last time the band performed together was in 2004.
