Fannypack See You Next Tuesday Album

Fannypack are a New York creation and the brainchild producers are Matt Goias and Fancy. They feature three female vocalists who all rap and have that street 'big apple' urban drawl. I certainly wouldn't compare them to Bahamidia however they have a sassy, youthful sound that's far away from cheese and has a serious yet seductive attitude. The music is interesting to say the least. It seems that Goias and Fancy have been experimenting with new computer software and created a unique sound. It's nothing like hip hop that we hear from America. In fact it's more on the 'grime' tip of the UK. However because it doesn't have the menacing sub bass and ferocious energy of UK grime it becomes quirkier to me.
It's certainly an original sound and this album for me gets better as it goes along. It definitely has a cool edge to it that will appeal to those looking for something different. I really liked 'Twisted' and 'You gotta know' it has elements of 80's electric boogaloo, house music and hip hop that all wrapped together with an uplifting feel. Sounds pretty interesting eh? This assemble has definite potential and are pushing things forward.
