Dirty on Purpose Hallelujah Sirens Album

If you have been missing the dark and deep 80s indie scene for a long time now, Dirty On Purpose have your number.

With lush, shimmering guitar and thick bass, this band from Brooklyn like their rock spacey and melodic, as if Sonic Youth and Joy Division had melded souls (and occasionally, as if Blondie fronted the Cure). This is a genuinely enjoyable album, evoking a mood of calm contemplation while it spikes the adrenaline load to high.

If your boats aren't being floated by the just-above-acousticness of the Bright Eyes and Death Cabs of the world, it may be that you need a little more fuzz and fizz to go with your sharp songwriting, both of which are evident throughout Hallelujah Sirens.
