The former The Smiths star claims his private parts were groped by the security officer as he went through a checkpoint at the airport last month (Jul15) and he lodged a formal complaint after two British Airways staff accompanying him reportedly confirmed the incident.

However, a probe by U.S. Department of Homeland Security staff has cleared the worker of any wrongdoing, and now Morrissey has addressed the drama on TV with veteran U.S. newsman Larry King.

During an appearance on Larry King Now, the singer says, "I had been through the... scanner and everything was fine and clear, but then he (security officer) went straight for my private bits and put his finger down my rear cleavage (backside).

"The people I was with from the special services said, 'This is assault', and he said, 'Well, that's just your opinion!'"

Admitting he was not surprised when TSA officials cleared the worker of any wrongdoing, Morrissey adds, "They're above the law. Yes, I filled out a complaint and so forth."
