Quote: "The biggest thing that I have to do before I get out of the entertainment business, is get to Sesame Street... Does anyone know how I can get to Sesame Street...? I gotta get there." Oscar winner Mo'nique is desperate to land a role on the educational children's TV series.
Quote: "I have not yet watched the show, but I know it's absolutely dynamic because they have two of the greatest actors of our generation. Terence Howard and Taraji P. Henson." Comedienne and actress Mo'nique has not seen an episode of Empire, the show she claims she was considered for before Henson won the role of Cookie Lyon.
Quote: "The Oscar, along with the other awards, is under a cabinet in the living room... because the only place we had for trophies, was where our babies' football trophies are so we have the football trophies up." Actress Mo'nique keeps the Academy Award she won in 2010 for PRECIOUS hidden away to make room for her kids' achievements.
Quote: "What happened was, as I got older, the hair (on her legs) began to fall out in different places. So one night, Sid and I were in the closet and he said, 'Mama, you starting to have spots on your legs. It look like you got the mangy (sic)! So you gotta do something about that.' So I shaved them that night and I've been shaving them ever since. If I still had it (full leg hair) I would still wear it well." Oscar winner Mo'nique, 47, explains why she started shaving her legs in 2011 after famously letting her hair grow for decades.
Quote: "I was offered the role in The Butler that Oprah Winfrey played. I was also approached by Empire (producers) to be on Empire. And I was also offered the role as Richard Pryor's grandmother (in Lee Daniels' upcoming Pryor biopic). Each of those things that he offered me was taken off the table. They all just went away. But that's just part of the business, you know? I can't be upset at anybody, 'cause life is too good. It's just what it is." Oscar winner Mo'nique has lost a trio of roles in Lee Daniels projects after winning gold for her portrayal of Mary in the director's 2009 film Precious.
