Miranda Lambert leads the field at the Academy of Country Music Awards with a total of eight nominations, including one for the top prize Entertainer of the Year. The nominations for the 50th annual awards ceremony were announced via Twitter on Friday morning.

31 year old Lambert is something of a crossover phenomenon. She’s currently the reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, and has been picked in the same category again for a ninth year in a row. It’s also her fourth shout in the Entertainer of the Year list. In addition, she’s up for Album of the Year for Platinum and Single Record of the Year, both as an artist and a songwriter, for ‘Automatic’.

Following closely behind Lambert in the pack is her former touring partner Dierks Bentley, with seven nominations in total, including for Album of the Year and Male Vocalist. Strangely, due to a tie in the voting by the judges at this stage, he was one of six (instead of the usual five) nominees for the latter category. The same is also true for the Song of the Year category.

Elsewhere in the list of nominees, the acclaimed duo Florida Georgia Line was nominated for five awards; Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney and Eric Church received four picks each; and Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood and Kacey Musgraves all got three.

The ACM Awards have a reputation for unpredictability, and so it goes in 2015. Country legend Garth Brooks, who returned to the scene last year after a lengthy absence, is in the Entertainer of the Year category against established regulars like Lambert and Bryan. As the winner in this category is determined by fan voting, don’t be surprised if the veteran walks away with the big prize.

The ceremony will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 19th. Country stars Blake Shelton, who was surprisingly snubbed for a number of categories, and Luke Bryan will host the evening, which will be broadcast live on CBS.
