The model says her son Flynn gets along really well with his dad’s girlfriend Katy Perry.
The former couple's close relationship hasn’t changed since Bloom started dating pop star Katy Perry, who Kerr says gets along great with their son Flynn making them all one big, happy, ‘modern family’.
Miranda Kerr says she, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry are like a ‘modern family’
Appearing at Harper’s Bazaar’s 150 Most Fashionable Women event in Hollywood on Friday, Kerr was asked how six-year-old Flynn’s relationship with Perry was. “Yeah, they’re great,” she told Us Weekly. “They get along really well. We are a modern family.”
As for her relationship with Bloom, Kerr added: “Orlando and I, we’re literally like family. He like … a brother. It’s very weird, but we really care for each other and have a great relationship, so we’re very lucky.”
Speaking to The Edit last January, Kerr revealed that after their split her and Bloom made a rule where they wouldn't introduce anyone to Flynn unless it was serious. “We had to know the person for six months and feel good about them,” she explained. “Evan (Spiegel, Kerr’s fiancé) met Flynn, so yeah, things are going well. Orlando thinks he’s great.”
Kerr announced her engagement to Snapchat cofounder and CEO Evan Spiegel last July, and on Friday the 33-year-old gushed about engaged life, saying the best part was: “really feeling like you have a partner, like you’re on the same team with someone."
“I just feel really lucky to, you know, have someone that I communicate so well with and vice versa,” Kerr added. “Like, we really communicate well and that’s really important and when you find that, it’s really special.”
