Miranda Kerr (born 20.04.1983) Miranda Kerr is an Australian model best known for being a Victoria's Secret Angel.
Childhood: Miranda Kerr was born in Sydney and grew up in Gunnedah, New South Wales. Her parents are Therese and John Kerr. As a child she enjoyed racing motorbikes and horseriding on a farm belonging to her grandmother. She moved to Brisbane and attended All Hallows' School. She studied nutrition and health psychology before going on to be a model.
Modelling career: Miranda Kerr made her modelling debut in Dolly Magazine at the age of fourteen after winning their 1997 Impulse Model Competition. The shoot sparked controversy over the magazine content as it was accused of glorifying young girls getting involved in the fashion industry. She later signed to Chic Management and modelled for surf brands such as Tigerlily, Roxy, Billabong Girls and One Teaspoon.
She then moved to New York and became the co-owner of the Bowery Ballroom before signing to NEXT Model Management in 2004. Among the labels she modelled for were Alex Perry, Baby Phat, Lisa Ho, Voodoo Dolls, Levi's, Bettina Liano, Blumarine Swimwear, Rock and Republic, Roberto Cavalli and Ober Jeans. She appeared in Elle, Australian Vogue and Harper's Bazaar and on TV commercials for Portmans, Bonds and Veet. In 2006, she appeared on 'Project Runway' as a model for Daniel Vosovic's final collection. She later signed a contract with Maybelline New York and featured in Cosmopolitan, CLEO, Elle and Victoria's Secret.
She became a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2007 after the departure Gisele Bundchen and appeared in the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 runway shows. She also became the face of Arden B. With the success of Victoria's Secret, she cameoed in the sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother' alongside Adriana Lima, Marisa Miller, Alessandra Ambrosio, Heidi Klum and Selita Ebanks. She then became the face of Clinique Happy and David Jones, and by 2008, Forbes placed Kerrer tenth in the list of the world's top-earning models.
In 2009, she appeared in the spring/summer ad campaign for XOXO before leaving NEXT Model Management and signing with IMG Models. That year she and George Moskos also launched a collection of organic skin products called Kora Organics, and she posed nude for Rolling Stone Australia raising awareness for endangered koalas.
In 2010, she released her first book, a self-help publication called 'Treasure Yourself', and appeared in the Pirelli Calendar photographed by Terry Richardson. That year she also began modelling for high fashion with the brands Balenciaga and Prada.
In 2011, she posed for Vogue Australia while six months pregnant and posed nude for Harper's Bazaar. In 2012, she became an ambassador for Qantas and represented Samantha Thavasa, in promoting the Malissa bag. She also became the face of Mango. In 2013, she was reported to have not had her contract with Victoria's Secret renewed.
Personal life: Miranda Kerr dated finance broker Adrian Camilleri in 2003 until he was arrested for fraud. She also dated Jay Lyon from Tamarama between 2003 and 2007.
She married Orlando Bloom in 2010 and the following year had their son Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, the name Christopher being taken from her ex-boyfriend who died while they were dating as teenagers.
