Former soap stars, ex- popstars, a fashion guru, an astrologist and a Made in Chelsea alumni are among the stars battling to be crowned the winner of this year’s Celebrity Masterchef. The reality series, which begins on the BBC next month, has just announced it's line-up of 20 stars who'll be showcasing their culinary skills during the show's six week run.

The mammoth line up includes ex-Eastender’s Alex Ferns (Trevor Morgan), Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell) and Todd Carty (Mark Fowler) alongside former JLS member JB Gill, Professor Green’s wife Mille Mackintosh and model Jodie Kidd.

Joining them are actors Amanda Burton Christopher Biggins, Leslie Ash, Tina Hobley, Ken Morely and Sophie Thompson. As well as TV presenters Alison Hammond, Tania Bryer and Charley Boorman, dancer Wayne Sleep, fashion critic Susannah Constantine, astrologer Russell Grant, singer Kiki Dee and son of Sean, Jason Connery.

The show's executive producer Carla-Maria Lawson told the BBC, "This year's series promises some real surprises”, adding, ”Be prepared to see a very different side to some well-known faces as the competition heats up.”

The celebrities will face a range of challenges including catering for hungry students at the Royal College of Music and cooking for previous winners, all the while trying to impress hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

Previous winners of the series include Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon, comedian Ade Edmondson, Emma Kennedy, Phil Vickery, Lisa Faulkner and DJ Jayne Middlemiss.
