It was just over a year ago that Jagger’s girlfriend of 13 years took her life while the rocker was preparing for a seven-concert stretch in Australia and New Zealand. After hearing of the news of her death, the band’s remaining shows were called off.

Tuesday would have been L’Wren’s birthday and Jagger posted a throw-back black-and-white photo of the leggy designer on Twitter with the caption: Remembering L’Wren on her birthday.

After her death, Jagger released a statement declaring his difficulty dealing with the news.

He said: "I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent as much admired, not least by me."

Jagger, 71, is currently on his Zip Tour in North America with a 15-city stadium tour. It was also touring that helped Jagger get over the death of L’Wren last February.

At the time of returning to work, one month after her suicide, Jagger said: "It was a very difficult time for me, obviously. But I think getting back on tour in Europe helped me a lot. You concentrate on your work and I had a great time touring."
