She donned a T-shirt paying tribute to her idol.
What better way to express your appreciation for your favourite first lady than to don a T-shirt bearing an enormous pop-art style picture of her face? Halle Berry did just that for Michelle Obama on the way to the New York premiere of her new movie 'Kidnap' earlier this week.

We all love Michelle Obama, but few people appreciate her enough to get a stylish shabby-chic T-shirt dress made in her honour with with caption 'Michelle My Belle'. Still, 50-year-old Halle Berry rocked the look with black hose and thigh boots in New York, posting an photo of the outfit on Instagram.

The first black First Lady speaks about being called an 'ape'.
It's hard to contemplate that people are still holding racist views in this day and age, but it's even harder to imagine that the first black First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, is still at the receiving end of such views even after eight years of representing the nation.

Unfortunately, that's the nature of Michelle's career, and in her first public appearance since leaving the White House she spoke about how hurtful the prejudice has been for her. She was at the Pepsi Center in Denver on Tuesday night (July 25th 2017) for the 30th anniversary of the Women's Foundation of Colorado where she was being interviewed by WFCO President and CEO Lauren Casteel. Lauren remarked that Michelle had broken 'the glass ceiling' as the first black First Lady, and asked which falling shards of glass cut the worst.
First Lady left 'shaken to the core' by Trump's disgusting sexist comments.
Michelle Obama hit the Hillary Clinton campaign rally in Manchester, New Hampshire yesterday (October 13th 2016) to encourage people to go out and vote for the Democratic presidential candidate. But while she was there, she took the time to speak some truth about Donald Trump's misogynistic comments.

Choking back tears of rage, the First Lady of the United States took to the stand and opened up about how she has been affected by revelations that a presidential candidate not only has outdated and sexist opinions, but that he has in the past routinely boasted about being 'allowed' to treat women any way he chooses. She opened her powerful speech by talking about how she celebrated the International Day of the Girl on Tuesday (October 11th 2016) by talking to girls about their value in society.

The US Postal Service's memorial stamp contained a quotation apparently not written or spoken by the author.
The US Postal Service’s attempt to commemorate the late author and civil rights activist Maya Angelou has ended in farce, after a postage stamp bearing her image contained a quotation that was, in fact, attributed to somebody else.
According to the Washington Post on Tuesday, the words that appear on the stamp - “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song” – would seem to make reference to Angelou’s 1969 autobiography ‘I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings’.
However, though these words are associated with her they were not actually written by Angelou, but instead by Joan Walsh Anglund in her 1967 book of poetry ‘A Cup of Sun’, with the “it” on the stamp changed from a “he”.
