Jackson, who is set to return to the spotlight with her new album STARTIN' OVER, has addressed the years of torment she says she suffered during her union with Gordon in a track called NO MORE DRAMA, which also takes aim at the tabloids.
She says of her marital hell, "I needed just to free myself of a lot of things, a lot of people and I didn't know how to do that. I didn't know how to get away.
"Eventually, I made that move and once I did that, that's when I decided to start cleaning house.
"It's the abuse that I went through and endured for many, many years - I had to do it one way or no way, knowing that I'd be beaten afterwards. So that's basically what I'm confronting. I should have left probably seven years ago."
LaToya, who claims the abuse got so bad she was confident she'd die if she didn't walk out, continues, "The last days I just knew I wouldn't be on this earth, so I had to make a move. I phoned one of my brothers. He said, 'I'll be right there to get you.' I flew to New York.
"I kept my pyjamas on pretending like nothing was going on because I knew I could never get away. The minute he knocked on the door, I just ran; I walked away with nothing. I just left."
