After a six month hiatus due to various departures and controversies, ‘Fashion Police’ finally returned to screens on Monday evening, and one of its former hosts congratulated its’ brand new one after the show.

Kelly Osbourne, who sensationally quit the red carpet fashion show back in February, offered up praise to debutant Melissa Rivers, who made her first appearance on the show which was made famous by her late mother Joan, who passed away almost exactly one year ago.

“@MelRivers congratulations on an awesome show tonight,” Osbourne tweeted, followed by a quick reply from Melissa moments later.

It’s the end of an era for E! News, as Guiliana Rancic has announced that she’s quitting her role as a day-to-day anchor in a month’s time.

The 40 year old Italian-American presenter will be stepping down on August 10th, after just over ten years in the job. However, she will remain a significant presence on the network, as she says her roles on ‘Fashion Police’ and ‘Live from the Red Carpet’ will be continuing as normal.

Fashion Police will be returning to E! in August and Melissa Rivers will be stepping into her late mother’s shoes as one of the show’s hosts. E! announced the news on Wednesday (17th June). Rivers will join Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski as co-host. 47-year-old Rivers will also continue serving as executive producer on the show, a role she has held since 2010.

Sensational reports indicate that Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the great Joan Rivers, is set to take the place of her late mother on ‘Fashion Police’ when it returns to screens later this year.

According to the New York Daily News, an unnamed source revealed that executives at E!, which broadcasts the popular fashion show, has internally named Melissa as the panel’s moderator when it resumes taping on August 31st this year. She has apparently signed up for six shows.

Melissa Rivers has a bone to pick with Kathy Griffin. In a recent interview, held in front of a large crowd at a New York community arts centre, the 47-year-old daughter of the late Joan Rivers claimed that Griffin wasn't a good fit for E!'s Fashion Police. She further suggested Griffin had unintentionally criticised Joan, harming her legacy, by writing a lengthy statement upon her departure from E!'s Fashion Police.

Joan Rivers' daughter, actress and television producer Melissa Rivers, has claimed her mother's death was "100% preventable". 47-year-old Melissa was a guest on the Today show on Monday (24th May). Whilst appearing on the show, Melissa revealed there were aspects of Joan's hospital treatment which she felt contributed to her mother's "preventable" death.

It’s an annual tradition that the Academy Awards pays tribute to those actors and filmmakers that have died in the last twelve months, and it was no different on Sunday night. Except, there was one major exclusion from the ‘In Memoriam’ reel last night – comedienne and actress Joan Rivers.

A rep from the Academy stated to The Hollywood Reporter: “Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of this year's Oscar show. She is, however, included in our 'In Memoriam' gallery on Oscar.com.”

Melissa Rivers has revealed she will be releasing a book later this year, telling the life story of her famous mother Joan, from a daughter’s perspective. The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation hits shelves on May 5th and promises to also deliver the gift Joan was best known for giving the world, laughter.

“(The book) will share funny, poignant, and irreverent observations, thoughts, and tales about the woman who raised her," publisher Crown Archetype told People magazine in a statement.

In a new plot twist to the Joan Rivers story, the comedienne’s daughter, Melissa Rivers, is filing  a lawsuit against the clinic where her mother had an outpatient procedure, which resulted in her death a week later.

Melissa Rivers' lawsuit claims that her mother's death may have been preventable.

Rivers issued a statement via the LA Times, explaining her reasons behind the suit: "Filing this lawsuit was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make. What ultimately guided me was my unwavering belief that no family should ever have to go through what my mother, [my son] Cooper and I have been through."

Joan Rivers’ daughter has marked the first Thanksgiving she’s spending without her by reactivating her mother’s social media accounts and sharing an old family photograph.

On Thursday, Melissa Rivers posted a message from Joan’s Twitter account, which was the first time the profile had been used since late August. She shared a touching, sepia-tinted photograph of her younger self sitting next to her mother, holding hands and laughing, while sitting at a table in formal wear.
