Solace Trailer

Somebody is committing increasingly gruesome and elaborate murders and the FBI don't know where to begin with tracking down the suspect. A team, led by special agent Joe Merriweather, decide that they have no choice but to enlist a veteran doctor named John Clancy, whose psychic abilites allow him to see things that no-one else can see no matter how much detective work they do. He has been living a life of solitude for the last two years after his own daughter died, but agrees to help for the sake of his old friend Joe. Unfortunately for him, this case is more than a match for his powers because their serial killer is constantly one step ahead of them. Clancy soon deduces that they are looking at somebody with psychic skills far superior to his own, and that the FBI agents are little more than flies running towards Charles Ambrose's sprawling web of death with each move.

San Andreas Trailer

California is well-known for playing host to regular earthquakes, being located right on top of the San Andreas fault; in other words, the tectonic plate boundary that separates the Pacific and the North American Plates. However, rarely have earthquakes been seen that have reduced whole cites to rubble, caused huge chasms in the Earth and deadly tidal waves through streets killing thousands of people. The only option for residents is to get as far away as possible, though with such a huge disaster ripping through the state, this one is still going to have an effect on the other side of the country. Meanwhile, chopper pilot Ray and his estranged wife are desperate to find their missing daughter Blake first, and use a Fire Department rescue helicopter to search high and low throughout the state.

The Frozen Ground Trailer

Jack Halcombe is an Alaskan State Trooper who determinedly sets out to find a serial killer after several bodies of young girls show up apparently murdered. When he discovers a frightened young girl hiding away bound with handcuffs, he realises that she is their key to finding the killer being the only one to have managed to escape from his clutches. However, her information is in doubt given the fact that she is a prostitute and refused a polygraph. When he does find the suspect, it is Robert Hansen; an experience hunter and a bakery worker whose respected status leads many investigators to cross him off their list. Halcombe is unwavering in his suspicions, however, and sets out to gather solid evidence that Hansen is their man.

However, when he is asked to design an escape proof prison for the country's biggest life-sentenced felons, he finds himself betrayed when he is subsequently kidnapped and incarcerated by a masked figure in that prison with no way of getting out. It is there he befriends Swan Rottmayer; a smart but aggressive inmate who takes a shine to Ray when he explains his determination to escape. Swan agrees to help, but this time it's going to take more than just clever methods to break free and find the people who double-crossed him.

Red Dawn Trailer

Jed Eckert is a marines soldier visiting his police officer father and football playing younger brother Matt. All seems well in their normal American town before the blackout. There is a sudden mass powercut across a large chunk of the country and before long, a squadron of aircrafts fill the sky with hundreds of North Korean soldiers parachuting from them. It's an invasion rendering the country powerless and under the threat of a powerful weapon that the Korean government has somehow obtained. Jed and Matt's father order them to hide out in a small cabin that they own in the wilderness; they do so and gather a group of likeminded teenagers along the way. Their father gets captured by the military forces while they hide and he uses a megaphone to bravely tell his sons to kill the soldiers holding him prisoner and he is subsequently shot and killed. The teenagers later find the cabin has been torched and Jed vows to fight back. The others join him and call themselves the Wolverines after their high school mascot. They make plans, along with experienced American soldiers, to steal back the weapon and win back their homeland.

Tigerland Review

Very Good
As it turns out, war can be hell even if you never leave home.

Joel Schumacher, director of some of the worst films in a generation (8MM, Batman & Robin, Batman Forever), redeems himself with his first really good flick since Falling Down in 1993. A tale of army recruits in their final days of training before heading to Vietnam in 1971, Tigerland is an original and modestly powerful anti-war film that never even goes "in country."
