Matt Damon regrets not keeping hold of his spacesuit from 'The Martian'.

The 44-year-old actor - who stars alongside the likes of Jessica Chastain and Kate Mara in the Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi movie - has admitted he wishes he'd followed the example of Chris Pratt, who kept one of the motorcycles from the set of 'Jurassic World'.

Speaking at the European premiere of 'The Martian' in London's Leicester Square last night (24.09.15), Matt - who plays astronaut Mark Watney - told BANG Showbiz: ''I didn't get to keep the spacesuit, I should've asked for it.

''Chris Pratt got to keep the motorcycle? I've got to talk to his agent.''

Meanwhile, Matt revealed he harboured fears about playing an astronaut before stepping on set, but was quickly reassured by his director, who he described as ''brilliant''.

He shared: ''I thought it was going to be a lot harder than it was, but Ridley Scott just made it so easy because he's a brilliant director. It was much, much easier than I thought.''

The movie has been screened to real-life astronauts and Ridley Scott described the experience as ''fantastic''.

He added: ''The International Space Station set it up. I wanted to see the guys, I wanted to see their reaction.''
