Fact: Fashion mogul and keen equestrian Mary-Kate Olsen was left red-faced at New York's 39th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show this week (ends29Aug14) after her mount Uniek refused to jump during one of the competitions. The stubborn horse cost Olsen big points on Thursday (28Aug14), but she later redeemed herself after mounting a white horse named Swagger to complete the other rounds in the event.

Fact: Former child star-turned-fashion mogul Mary-Kate Olsen and her rumoured fiance Olivier Sarkozy have purchased a new home in the Turtle Bay neighbourhood of Manhattan, New York for $13.5 million (£8.44 million). It's the latest property purchase for the couple, which bought another pad in Manhattan's East Village in 2012, but offloaded it less than a year later without ever having lived in it.
