Mary Berry and Paul HollywoodBake Off BBC style has officially come to an end

The show would see Paul and Mary reunite one last time but Love Productions have said no.

The Mirror has reported that the show - which has moved to Channel 4 in a huge £75million deal - will create its own charity version on its new home with a new star line-up.

It has been said the refusal by Love Productions has come down to the BBC’s dithering; however, in a statement released by the Beeb it seems there are tensions coming from all sides.

A BBC spokesman said: "We would have loved a Bake Off Comic Relief special but Love Productions refused to make it.

"They have now moved to Channel 4 and are making a charity programme with them - with which we wish them well."

Love Productions have claimed they contacted the corporation about the special but didn’t receive a reply and, when the BBC eventually contacted them, it was too late.

Yhey had already decided to take the show to Channel 4 and make a Stand Up To Cancer charity show.

A spokesperson for Love Productions said: "This was just one of the contributory factors behind the breakdown of negotiations with the BBC."
