The actress is in discussions to take the leading role in 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'.
Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' is in heavy development right now, with the iconic filmmaker putting together some huge names to make sure his latest project is a star-studded affair. Now, it's been reported that Margot Robbie is in talks to take on the role of Sharon Tate in the movie, which takes place around the time of the Manson Family slayings in Hollywood.
Margot Robbie is in talks to join the cast of 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'
Though serial killer Charles Manson is said to only play a small part in the film, the actions that both he and his cult 'family' take look certain to set the stage for the story being told. Tate is of course the former wife of Roman Polanski, who was pregnant at the time she was murdered by a group of Manson's followers.
If Robbie does agree to join the project, she'll be reunited with her fellow 'The Wolf Of Wall Street' star Leonardo DiCaprio, who has signed on to play television actor Rick Dalton. Brad Pitt has also been confirmed for the movie, playing Rick's stunt double Cliff Boothe.
No other names have yet been attached to the cast, but it's understood that Tarantino is looking for a Polish actor to play Polanski. How big of a part he'll play in the movie isn't something that has been confirmed either, but with Tarantino's history of bringing unique cinematography and narrative to the big screen, the most recognisable characters could actually only be around for a short amount of time.
Tarantino hasn't had the best few weeks, having been accused of actress Uma Thurman of being put into the position of performing a dangerous stunt despite her pleas with the director not to do so. The events took place on the set of 'Kill Bill', and video footage of the accident which left Thurman with lasting injuries was released. Tarantino said that forcing the actress to comply with his demands to complete the stunt was "one of the biggest regrets" of his life.
Hopefully he's learned his lessons, and anybody who jumps on board for 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' will enjoy a safer and more encouraging work environment.
