The Grammy Award winner last month (Sep15) took aim at Clinton's rival Donald Trump over his controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants.

He urged Latinos to show their power by standing strong, and now he has demonstrated his backing for Democrat candidate Clinton by unveiling her as special guest at a show in Miami.

Two songs into his set, Anthony told the crowd at the AmericanAirlines Arena, "This is like family. I want to recognise someone who came to the concert tonight. Please, with all the respect in the world, let's hear it for Hillary Clinton."

Editors at Billboard.com report Clinton walked onto the stage and embraced Anthony before posing for photographs.

Although Clinton did not speak during her brief two-minute appearance, she later took to Twitter.com to post an image of the pair onstage.

Anthony also took to the social networking site to share a video of their onstage hug alongside the message, "This election is important for the future of the Latino community, our vote could make the difference @HillaryClinton."
