Mamas Gun's new single, Only One, features vocals from the soul singer Beverly Knight and will be released on January 9th 2012. It is taken from Mamas Gun's second album, The Life and Soul, which was released in July 2011.
Mamas Gun is 'Orinni' Andy Platts; 'Professor' Rex Horan; Dave 'Eighties' Oliver; Terry 'Spiller' Lewis and 'Union' Jack Pollitt, who formed the band in 2007. Teir debut album, Routes to Riches, was released in 2009 and received critical acclaim, especially in Japan, where they became the most played international act in the country. They recieved support from Beverly Knight, who invited the band to tour with her in 2010.
The Life and Soul was produced with the help of the Grammy award winning production team Martin Terefe and Andreas Olsson, who have had previous success with artists such as Train; Jason Mraz; KT Tunstall; Jamie Cullum and James Morrison.
The video for Only One was recorded in August 2011 and sees Mamas Gun and Beverly Knight in a studio, preparing to and then performing the song.
