Reports suggest Prince's representatives sent out last-minute invites to just over 30 fans and local reporters to join the music legend at Paisley Park late on Thursday for an "extra special" event.

However, lucky guests were left stunned in the early hours of Friday (09Oct15) when Madonna and her entourage walked into the room, accompanied by her security team. Her dancers joined the party, while the singer was ushered into a private area, where she later emerged followed by Prince.

Attendees claim Madonna then took a seat at the edge of the stage, where she gazed up at the soul star as he serenaded her and the intimate crowd with tracks including Stare and Guitar.

The Vogue superstar's appearance took place hours after she had wrapped up her Rebel Heart Tour stop in nearby St. Paul, where she had dedicated her performance of La Vie En Rose to her old collaborator.

She and Prince were close friends throughout the 1980s and briefly became lovers before teaming up to record the tune Love Song, from Madonna's 1988 album Like a Prayer. However, they suffered a mystery fall-out and their relationship turned bitter as they took shots at one another through the media, with Madonna blasting Prince as a "little troll" and criticising his refusal to eat during one dinner date.

They finally put their differences aside in 2011, when Madonna was spotted in the audience at Prince's concert at New York's Madison Square Garden, where he gave her a special shout out from the stage.
