Louis Tomlinson’s baby son Freddie might only be three months old, but the One Direction singer is wasting no time getting him ready for a lifetime of football fandom, sharing a sweet picture on Instagram on Thursday.

The Directioner, who welcomed his first child with his ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth back in late January, posted a picture of the 11 week old baby in a white outfit with a miniature football between his legs.

Fans of the singer know that the 24 year old is a big fan of his hometown team Doncaster Rovers F.C., whom he made a failed bid to actually buy back in 2014. He’s also signed as a non-contract player for the League One team, and has even appeared once for the reserve side.

Earlier this week, he was revealed as the winner of a fan competition to design the team’s away jersey for the forthcoming season – which made a number of non-famous fans of the club angry, accusing the South Yorkshire club of fixing the outcome.

Meanwhile, Louis’ grandfather Len recently told ITV calendar about how impressed he’s been with seeing his grandson settle down into fatherhood, and how well he’s been adapting.

“He's learning very quickly to be a dad. I mean Louis wants to be a great dad and he is a great dad and will be a better dad. But it's all a new learning curve for him,” Len explained. “I see him changing Freddie and feeding Freddie, like we all do and all have done. But it's a new phenomenon for Louis and he's learning very quickly on his feet.”

“I mean the baby's very young, he's only two months old. So there's no real baby stories, apart from ‘agaga agoogoo’.”

Meanwhile, 23 year old Briana recently moved to shut down the (frankly ludicrous) rumours from Directioners that her son Freddie is actually fake. The conspiracy theory had become so rampant that MTV posted an Instagram asking ‘Where’s Freddie?’, with some fans convinced that Louis’ baby is a fabrication to cover up a homosexual relationship between himself and bandmate Harry Styles, referred to as 'Larry' or 'Larry Stylinson' by subscribers to the theory.

Told you it was out there!

But the L.A.-based stylist didn’t see any funny side, posting on Thursday: “Sorry but that is just cruel. I don't usually speak out much, but I'd like to know how would you feel as a new proud mother reading something like this? How dare anyone call my child fake. That's sick and morally wrong.”
