Troubled actor Lou Diamond Phillips has received unlikely support as he fights to clear his name following a domestic disturbance charge - from his ex-wife. The La Bamba star was arrested on 11 August (06) after police were called to his Northridge, California, home to break up an alleged fight with his live-in girlfriend YVONNE BOISMER. And no one was more surprised than Phillips' ex-wife KELLY, who insists the reports linking her former husband to a violent attack must be wrong. She says, "I don't know what happened, but I know it's not in Lou's nature to be abusive or violent. I'm totally surprised." Phillips, 44, was released after spending 10 hours in custody and no charges have been pressed. His publicist has already stated the incident was all part of a huge misunderstanding and now Phillips' pal CHASE MICHAELS, who was with the actor when the disturbance erupted, insists it was all a big fuss over nothing. Michaels says, "Physical violence is not in Lou's character. He and Yvonne are back together."
