American comedienne Lisa Lampanelli has shed three dress sizes after undergoing extreme weight-loss surgery.
Former The Celebrity Apprentice star Lampanelli has struggled to keep her waistline in check over the years and, in a desperate attempt to shed the pounds for good, she has now reduced the size of her stomach with a gastric sleeve procedure.
The funnywoman has since recovered from the operation and Lampanelli insists she is focused on making healthy lifestyle choices.
During an appearance on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Tuesday (24Jul12), she said, "It's called the gastric sleeve, which means they (doctors) remove about about 80 per cent of your stomach, which means you can eat about four ounces (113 grams), three times a day, which is about a cup-and-a-half of food.
"You really have to be conscious about everything you put in your mouth. You have to exercise every day to keep your energy up. You have to eat tons of protein - so basically it changes everything."
The 51 year old reveals she didn't have to go through the experience alone - her husband Jimmy also went under the knife for the same procedure a few weeks later.
She adds, "Combined we (have) lost a total of 105 pounds (48 kilograms) so far."
