Lindsay Lohan has recorded her first TV appearance following her stint in rehab. She filmed Monday's Chelsea Lately and co-hosted the show where she told the audience that she'd "been on a 90-day court ordered vacation."

Lohan was released from rehab on Tuesday, despite rumours that she may need continued therapy, and appeared in good spirits on the show. Lohan was "funny", according to sources speaking to TMZ, chatting away with fellow host Chelsea Handler and guests: Dylan Bruce, Jen Kirkman and Fortune Feimster.

It's been a mixed week for Lohan: not only has she been released from rehab but her latest film has been released. Lohan stars in The Canyons which was released in US cinemas on Monday 29th July. The film follows Christian (James Deen) as he discovers an affair between Hollywood celebrities Tara (Lohan) and Ryan (Nolan Gerard Funk). Christian decides to use this secret to his advantage which causes the situation to escalate dangerously.

Unfortunately for the actress who stars, alongside former porn-star James Deen and Nolan Gerard Funk, the film has not been received favourably by critics. Manohla Dargis of the New York Times described the film as "a dispiriting, un-pleasurable work punctuated with flashes of vitalizing vulgarity." Indeed, the film so horrified Peter Travis of Rolling Stone, that he hailed The Canyons as "the death of cinema."

The Canyons is out in US cinemas now and is released in the UK today (2nd August).
