Katie Hopkins has garnered a reputation for canvasing some very unpopular opinions. Of course, her and her employers know what they’re doing, and getting attention is the name of the game.

Lily Allen took he bait, though (we can't really blame her) and gave Hopkins a piece of her mind after a frankly nasty rant in Heat magazine from the former Apprentice hopeful (that means loser).

Hopkins said in the gossip rag: “I quite liked her when she was singing and kind of interesting and then she went off to tell us all about being a mother,” adding that: “She was removing herself from the spotlight because she wanted to be a mother and that largely involved gaining two stone and looking pretty hideous.”

She didn’t stop there. “So then she decided that was boring and now she wasn't going to be a mother any more, she was going to be a singer. Like Peaches (Geldof), she is just famous for having a famous dad.”

Allen was never going to stand by and let Hopkins say all that without a ripost, so took to Twitter to very her feelings on the hugely-unpopular social commentator, who first came to controversy when she expressed her feelings on baby names.

“I wasn't exercising because I didn't want to take any risks, and, funnily enough, the survival of my children felt more important than being thin,” argued the singer, who recently enjoyed a comeback marked by the John Lewis Advert song, ‘Somewhere Only We Know’.

“Can somebody tell me what Katie Hopkins does except go on telly slagging off girls half her age?” she added in another Tweet “PS: Katie, looks are obviously so important to you. There's always plastic surgery ya know. Maybe they could sew your mouth up while they fix the rest of you.”

There were more, and you can read them all here, but one thing’s certain: Lily Allen and Katie Hopkins aren’t buddies. Does anyone like Hopkins, actually?
