A rep for the rapper told Billboard: “Under the guidance of his own doctors, he is now in stable condition and good spirits. He thanks his fans for their everlasting support, prayers and well wishes.”
The news of Wayne’s seizure was first reported by TMZ who said the rapper refused medical treatment after the plane’s landing. An Omaha Airport Authority later confirmed to E! News that a medical divert call came in around 2:36 local time. When ambulance and the rescue fire department responded, the party refused treatment.
The plane departed after authorities terminated the response 30 minutes after the initial call came in. E! News also learned that the passenger on board was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, after walking off the plane under his own power.
This is not the first time Wayne has suffered from seizures. In 2013 the rapper revealed he is epileptic and prone to seizures. “This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures; y’all just never hear about it,” Wayne said in a 2013 interview.
“This time it got real bad because I got three of ’em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died soon. That’s why it was so serious. The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That’s typical me, though.”
