Liam Hemsworth has fuelled speculation he has split from Miley Cyrus after dropping $1.6 million on a bachelor pad, in Australia.Situated on 6.2 acres of land, the three-bedroom property is surrounded by sand dunes and a view of the ocean. Hemsworth, who flew into Australia last week amid rumors he had split from Miley, is currently residing in his swanky new pad.

However, when we say Liam dropped $1.6 million on a new place, what we actually mean is his parents bought the property for their Hollywood star son. A pretty generous present huh? The 23-year-old has been spending time with his family and friends in his native country all week, and was snapped buying items for his home this week. Eyewitnesses say he's in a "relaxed mood," despite being the subject of intense media speculation. "He doesn't seem especially sad [or] happy," says the source. "He seems to be enjoying seeing his family as far as we can tell."

Meanwhile, Cyrus - his fiancée - remains in Los Angeles and is yet to comment publicly on the speculation. An insider told E! News on Wednesday that Liam and Miley have hit a rocky patch but refuse to give up on their relationship. "They both want it to work."

Hemsworth recently completed filming on The Hunger Games sequel 'Catching Fire' with Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks and Philip Seymour Hoffman. It hits cinemas worldwide in November 2013.
