Liam Gallagher Blames Brother Noel For Lack Of Oasis Reunion

Liam Gallagher Noel Gallagher

Liam Gallagher has blamed his brother Noel Gallagher for their band Oasis not having a reunion this year.

The 44-year-old singer and his older sibling have been at loggerheads since they fell out in 2009 when he quit the group but, although he's not overly interested in making up with the 49-year-old rocker, he believes Noel's determination to be a solo artist is shattering the chances.

Taking part in a Q&A with Johnny Vaughan at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium for Radio X, the 'Songbird' songwriter was asked to get Oasis back together.

Speaking to the Metro newspaper, he said: ''I've done the Beady Eye thing and that didn't come off and I thought maybe I'll just have a break, but I wrote these songs, and I thought, what else can I do? This album if it does well we crack on and do another one.

Liam Gallagher's Solo Album Is 'sounding Promising'

Liam Gallagher's solo album is ''sounding promising''.

The 44-year-old musician has admitted his debut solo LP, which is set to be unveiled in 2017, has revealed although there is ''disbelief'' surrounding his forthcoming music compilation because he has released music without his brother Noel, the tracks are ''delicious''.

Speaking to The Sunday Times newspaper about his forthcoming music, the dark-haired rocker said: ''I can only say it's sounding promising. There's disbelief, without a doubt. That spurs me on. It's like when people body-shame someone, and two minutes later they've got a six-pack.

He told Sky News at the launch of the new Oasis documentary movie Supersonic, directed by Mat Whitecross and released on Sunday (October 2nd): “If it happens tomorrow, I'm ready, my bags are packed. If it happens in a year, I'm still ready, if it happens in 10 years, I'm still ready.”

More details about the upcoming Oasis documentary film being produced by the makers of Amy, as both Noel and Liam Gallagher have offered their co-operation to the project and will both feature in the movie. It’s unlikely that they’ll appear together, but we can live in hope.

The two brothers were the sole constant members of the often turbulent Britpop giants, whose commercial fortunes peaked in the mid ‘90s but whose popularity endured until their eventual disintegration in Paris in August 2009. They have not worked together since and are believed not to have had any contact at all, though they have occasionally fired pot-shots at each other through the press.

At the time, Liam was reported to have broken one of his favourite guitars minutes before the band was due onstage at a festival.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, he said: “There was a rumour last week that we've had a gentleman's agreement [to reform Oasis], but that rumour's come from his people. Irony Awards 2013: Liam Gallagher's Secret Revealed - Liza Ghorbani Is His Baby's Mother

Liam Gallagher

So, let’s get this straight: the mother of Liam Gallagher’s latest baby is a celebrity journalist? Oh the irony. Following years of journalist bashing from the controversial ex-Oasis member, he allegedly got one pregnant then dumped her when she decided to sue him for child support, and now other entertainment journalists are writing about it. I think we have a clear winner here.

The pair met when Ghorbani wrote a piece about Liam in a New York tabloid three years ago; this allegdly led to an affair that broke down three months after the sprog was born. According to The New York Post’s ‘Page Six’, he’s been sued in a Manhattan Family Court for $3 million.

“Liam admitted the child is his in an e-mail, saying she is a beautiful child because she has ‘rock star genes’” a source explained.“Liza met Liam when she interviewed him for the Times and they began an affair. It continued until around three months after the birth of the child. He ended the relationship when she told him she was suing him for child support,” the source added.

And that's it. Another year passes and Worthy Farm closes its gates on the Glastonbury Festival revellers for another 12 months. Though there's always the distant murmur of someone professing it "the best Glastonbury ever," there was a palpable feeling that this year's festival was among the finest in history. Firstly, there was heightened anticipation given the fallow year in 2012 and secondly, the sun came out. Oh, and The Rolling Stones made their debut, rollicking through a two-and-a-half-hour set on Saturday (June 29, 2013) and scoring five-star reviews across the board.

The surprise return of David Bowie in 2013 had left many commentators speculating on the possibility of the Thin White Duke headlining the legendary festival, though there was no lingering thoughts of "What if?" once Glastonbury got underway on Friday with a snappy set from Sheffield heroes Arctic Monkeys. Bowie became all but a moot point after Saturday, when Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and company played a career spanning set that included 'Jumping Jack Flash,' 'Tumbling Dice,' 'Start Me Up,' 'You Can't Always Get What You Want,' 'Gimmie Shelter,' 'Doom and Gloom' and 'Midnight Rambler.' "The night belongs to the Stones. By turning on the charm as well as the formidable back catalogue, they prove themselves well worth the wait," said the Guardian's Dorian Lynskey.

Robbie Williams Kicks Back At Liam Gallagher Comments; Are We In The 90's Again?

Robbie Williams Liam Gallagher

You could have been forgiven for thinking we'd gone back in time to the nineties earlier this week, when Liam Gallagher unleashed a scathing attack on singer Robbie Williams for, well, being Robbie Williams. And the retro feud looks as though it'll go on even longer too, because Robbie has retaliated to the monobrowed Mancunian with a few choice words of his own, which will invariably provoke a return from Liam, and so on until they both realise no one cares.

Robbie played four nights back-to-back at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium early this week, a move that provoked a jealous reaction from Gallagher - a lifelong Manchester City fan and, now that Oasis have split, someone who will never be able to pull stadium-filling crowd. The Beady Eye frontman called Robbie a “f***ing fat f***ing idiot” for performing to four huge sold-out crowds; the actions of an obvious idiot.

“The interviews are better than the records at the minute. I really enjoy the interviews. Liam is like an episode of Star Stories,” Robbie said recently in retaliation, before going on to slate some of the songs on the new Beady Eye album BE, saying: “The production is really good. There are a couple of tunes that would have been f***ing amazing if they had a chorus."

Liam Gallagher V Robbie Williams Round... 975? Ding Ding!

Liam Gallagher Robbie Williams

We’ve lost count of the public media battles between Liam Gallagher and Robbie Williams; one of them from an honest rock band, the other an honest pop star. Musically, they were poles apart, but their personalities were similar.

Now, Liam has reignited the feud between the musical giants. Incensed that Williams is to play three nights at his beloved Etihad stadium – the home of Manchester City – Liam said: “The bulls**t is winning,” before telling BBC Radio 5 LivethatRobbie a “fat f***ing idiot.” He then went on to express his disdain that Williams has the stadium while he’s playing the tacky Ritzy for one night as Beady Eye. "I think it's a shame that he's doing three nights [at the Etihad] and a band like us are doing one night in the Ritz. Poor, mate,” he explained. "It's not about him, it's people in general. But it's about f**king him, just in case you think I'm scared or something." We get it Liam, you’re not scared of anyone.

How Did It Come To This? Liam Gallagher And Robbie Set For 'The Voice'

Liam Gallagher Robbie Williams Nicole Appleton Oasis Beady Eye

We bet while Liam Gallagher was travelling the world with Oasis in the heady 1990s, he didn't expect to appear on a dodgy singing contest with Jessie J, Tom Jones and that bloke from The Script. Ok, so he's not auditioning, but his band Beady Eye will take to the BBC stage on Saturday night (May 15, 2013) to sing live on 'The Voice.'

There is a problem.

Liam's sort-of arch-nemesis Robbie Williams - who isn't really his arch-nemesis - will also be on-set to record a pre-recorded performance with Dizzee Rascal. Heads will roll! Probably. Worried bosses are the BBC are apparently keen to keep both parties on separate sides of Pinewood Studios, despite the fact that Liam, nor Robbie are that bothered. A show source told The Sun: "Relations between Robbie and Liam do seem to have become less hostile but the bosses aren't taking any chances. They had hoped they wouldn't be in the studio at the same time but as Robbie's tour clashed with the final, his performance has to be pre-recorded. So we have given them separate Winnebagos on either side of the studio and called in extra security to be on hand in case the pair do kick off."

Could ‘13’ Be Black Sabbath's First Number One Album In Over 40 Years?

Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne Tony Iommi Liam Gallagher Rick Rubin Rage Against The Machine

Black Sabbath are back and it looks like they're back with a bang too, with the metal overlords looking set to score their first number one on the album chart in 43 years. 13 was released at the beginning of this week and it has been slowly creeping up the charts, and it could have a good chance of reaching the coveted spot by the end of the week. The album - the first to feature the (mostly) original lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler (drummer Burt Ward was forced to sit out the recording process because of health reasons) in 35-years - currently sits at the top of the mid-week charts, however it cannot officially claim to be an official number one until the end of the week. With no real threat in the charts to challenge it for the top spot - bar Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye perhaps - so it looks like the band may be on to recreate the feat their 1970 album Paranoid.

The album was produced by acclaimed Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin and features Rage Against The Machine’s Brad Wilkes sitting in for Ward, and critics are hailing the album as a return to the doom-laded guitar riffs of the band's classic albums from the 70's. Frontman Osbourne declared his surprise at the album's success earlier today, saying “I can’t believe Black Sabbath may have its first number one album in 43 years.”

The band will continue their world tour in support of the album over the rest of the year, having already played in New Zealand, Australia and parts of Asia. The tour reaches London's O2 Arena in December and will arrive at Houston's Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion on July 25.

Latest Promotional Stint Will See Beady Eye Performing On 'The Voice'

Beady Eye Noel Gallagher Liam Gallagher

Beady Eye recently dropped a new album and are hitting the campaign trail hard, including an appearance on The Voice this weekend. The band, formed mainly by the remaining members of Oasis, sans Noel Gallagher, released its second studio album – BE – at the beginning of this week and promotion for it has just been kicked into gear. Just this week, Beady Eye members Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, Chris Sharrock and Jay Mehler have already made two promotional appearances – an intimate in-store gig at London’s Rough Trade and a signing at HMV in Manchester, according to Gigwise.

If their promo footage is to be believed, BE is supposed to be the opening of a brand new chapter.

"This will go out into the world, and our work is done, and that's our primary responsibility. And the gift that we get from doing something like this is the present. Like, when we press play,” Gallagher ever so eloquently puts it. "That's the highest gift anyone can have, it's like, 'Woah, f**k, we made something happen. I mean, life is about growth, it's about change."

Liam Gallagher was mobbed by Oasis and Beady Eye fans as he stepped off a train at Manchester Piccadilly on Tuesday (June 11, 2013) to launch his new album BE in his hometown. Liam - wearing his trademark mac, jeans and desert shoes combo - signed autographs and posed for photographs on the train platform before heading to HMV on Market Street to launch the record.

Busy commuters stopped in their tracks and pulled out smartphones as the Manchester legend paraded through the city centre. Later, Gallagher invited 100 fans to an after-party at his designer store Pretty Green on King Street, reports the Manchester Evening News.

"On my way to Manchester centre of the universe," Liam had tweeted earlier in the day, before arriving in the north-west with band mates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock for an acoustic gig of tracks from the new album.

The Stone Roses: Made Of Stone Review

Excellent

Made by a fan for fans, this documentary explores the iconic English rock band through raw adoration rather than a detailed narrative. But Shane Meadows (This Is England) is a seriously gifted filmmaker, and his approach wins us over by focussing on the bandmates' personalities, their passion for the music and their fans' devotion to them.

Childhood friends Ian Brown and John Squire formed the Stone Roses in Manchester in 1984, then set about to show the world that they were the greatest rock band ever. It took five years and a number of rotating bandmates until the lineup settled down with Ian, John, Reni (Alan Wren) and Mani (Gary Mounfield), and their first album in 1989 was a landmark hit. It took them five more years to release their second album, and that period was marked with terrible battles both within the band and with their record label and management. The band dissolved shortly after Second Coming was released in 1994. Cut to 2011, when these four men reunited to announce their comeback, starting with a major concert in Manchester in June 2012.

Meadows has access to an astonishing array of archival material, including home movies and private photos, vintage TV interviews and performance footage. He pieces this together without narration, letting the bandmates recount their own story, so naturally they skip over the more uncomfortable elements, such as the seven other musicians who came and went over the years. And there are no details about the various fallings out between them. Instead, this collage astutely captures their lively personalities, the way they work and how they come together to play their most memorable songs.

Liam Gallagher Would Consider Live Oasis 'Definitely Maybe' 20th Anniversary Reunion

Liam Gallagher Oasis

Liam Gallagher’s just put out a new record with his band Beady Eye but whenever he talks to the NME you just know that the chatter’s going to return to his old band, Oasis.

So it proves again in this week’s print issue of the magazine, with the younger Gallagher brother hinting that he would be open to bringing the band back. Given the whopping pay checks his pals the Stone Roses got for their reunion we’re not surprised either. "There's unfinished business there. People ask would I get Oasis back together” he told the publication. “I'd do it for nowt, but if someone's going to drop a load of f*cking money, I'd do it for that too.” However, he did add: “I don't think we'd ever make another record. I doubt we'll ever get back together."

Gallagher suggested that it would be good to get the group back together in time for the 20th anniversary of their multi-million selling debut album Definitely Maybe. The record pushed them to huge success in the UK and paved the way for eventual global domination. It turns 20 next year and the outspoken front man commented "If we do, it'd be nice to do that f*cking thing that's coming up (the 20th anniversary) I'd be up for that. But I'd still go back to Beady Eye and Noel would go back to his thing. We could bury the hatchet for a quick lap of honour."

Liam Gallagher Went Into Anaphylactic Shock After Eating Blue M&M

Liam Gallagher Oasis Carl Barat Rizzle Kicks

It would have been slightly ironic had a blue M&M nut killed off former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. The Manchester-born singer, who's lived the rock n' roll lifestyle for over 20 years, admitted he thought his time was up after going into anaphylactic shock during a international tour last month. The singer has since been diagnosed with a nut allergy after suffering a reaction to his favourite sweets while performing abroad.

Speaking at the launch of The Red House restaurant in south-west London, Gallagher told The Sun: "I've done some stuff over the years but never, never did I think a f****** blue M&M would be the thing that could have killed me. I was in a hotel on holiday and got in about the mini bar..I was bored and hungry, so it's what you do, man. I've always liked M&Ms so I got into them. I had a blue one..My mouth started to swell up and I could feel it tightening my throat, man. I had to go to the docs and get it checked out straight away." Pretty scary stuff indeed.

Anyway, Liam now has to carry a syringe about with him in case of emergencies, "Proper Pete Doherty gear," he added. The singer was out drinking with brother-in-law Liam Howlett, Hurts' singer Theo Hutchcraft, The Libertines guitarist Carl Barat and rappers Rizzle Kicks. The whole gang ended up in The Box nightclub in Soho.

Riding On The Shoulders Of Dogs: Liam Gallagher Gets Wasted

Liam Gallagher Oasis Noel Gallagher

Liam Gallagher’s not one for ageing gracefully, bless him, not that the punters at The Old White Bear in Hampstead, north west London seemed to mind too much as he indulged in a boozy drinking session with his mates at the weekend, which culminated in him trying to ride around on a dog.

That’s right, the inebriated brother of Noel and former Oasis man hopped on board a passing dog and attempted to ride it like a pony. An onlooker commented “He tried to get on the dog’s back and they were just taking little steps — but it just didn’t work. It was really funny.” The group carried on drinking, including ordering £47 bottles of champagne, however after racking up a tab of more than £300 it looked like they might well depart without paying a penny –and not out of the kindness of the owners.

A source told The Sun: “The poor waitress serving them was crying when she thought she’d lost all the money, but the pub manager ran after him.” Thankfully the incident just seemed to be a bit of drunken forgetfulness, with the manager telling the paper “After £300 of drink you forget things. He was happy to pay straight away when I caught up with him.” Liam always was the more rock n’ roll brother of him and Noel, wasn’t he?

"Nice As Pie" - Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye Shoot Music Video In Lancashire Pub

Liam Gallagher Beady Eye

Liam Gallagher’s band Beady Eye caused quite a stir in the Lancashire village of Baxenden, near Accrington, when they filmed the video for their latest track ‘Flick of the Finger’ in the local pub, the Dog and Partridge. Local resident Ian Brennan reportedly took his daughters along to meet the former Oasis frontman and even got to chat to him during a filming break, NME reports.

“I asked them what it was all about and they didn’t want to say anything at first but then they told us it was Liam Gallagher," Brennan told the Accrington Observer. “As we walked back up the road he came out, it was quite surreal seeing him at our local boozer. The girls were quite scared when I went to talk to him but he was nice as pie." The Baxenden resident then added “I asked him for photos with the girls and he was chatting to them telling them his mum was a dinner lady and asking if they were off school. People always say he’s mad but he was really sound.”

‘Flick of the Finger’ is taken from the forthcoming Beady Eye album, which will be entitled BE and is scheduled for release on June 10, 2013. It’s the first album release from the band since their 2011 debut Different Gear, Still Speeding. This summer, the band are scheduled to play headline slots at V Festival and T in the Park.

Is Liam Gallagher Right To Mock Noel Over Blur Collaboration?

Liam Gallagher Noel Gallagher

Liam Gallagher has blasted his brother Noel for performing with former Blur arch rivals Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon over the weekend. Former Oasis songwriter Noel teamed up with the Britpop pair at the Teenage Cancer Trust concert on Saturday evening (March 23, 2013) prompting a fiery response from his younger sibling.

"Don't know what's worse RKID sipping champagne with a war criminal or them backing vocals you've just done for BLUE ! LG x (sic)" tweeted Liam, also referring to Noel's decision to meet with Tony Blair following his election as Prime Minister. Liam, 40, and Noel, 45, have barely spoken since the latter quit Oasis in August 2009 following a fight with his younger brother, though both trade barbed insults regularly through the press.

Noel, Damon and Graham provoked rapturous applause after arriving on-stage together at London's Royal Albert Hall, though the performance was somewhat marred by the fact Paul Weller was on drums. The Evening Standard said The Jam star played "as though he'd never seen a kit in his life."

Liam Gallagher Slams Brother Noel For Blur Cancer Trust Gig Hook-Up

Liam Gallagher

It was a lovely moment, one where the old rivalries of Britpop came together in aid of charity, with former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher burying the hatchet with Blur’s Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon to get together and sing the latter’s 1999 hit ‘Tender’ at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenager Cancer Trust.

However, you could bet your bottom dollar that one man would be sitting at home, watching it on TV (we’re not sure if it actually was on TV) smoking a fag and drinking from a bottle of Jack Daniels while cursing at his older brother. Liam Gallagher’s probably a lot tidier than that actually, the fact he has a clothing line now suggests he takes care of his appearance, but for the purposes of this story and the need to paint him out in bitterness we’re going to go with this. Sure enough, as he watch Noel sing along the backing vocals to the triumphant sounding rendition, Liam reached for his phone and tweeted "Don't know what's worse RKID sipping champagne with a war criminal or them backing vocals you've just done for BLUE ! LG x (sic).” We presume the “war criminal” he was referencing there was Tony Blair.

Noel and Liam have been on bitter terms ever since Oasis split up in 2009, with both going on to form their own separate groups and both continuing to play Oasis songs in their sets. Oasis and Blur’s feud reached it’s height in 1995 when they went head to head for the number one singles spot with their hits ‘Roll With It’ and ‘Country House,’ but the elder Gallagher has since warmed to Blur, and the pair even shared a table at this year’s BRIT Awards, according to The Sun.

Poor Mrs Gallagher: Liam Gallagher Spends Mother's Day On A Bender, Thrown Out Of Pub

Liam Gallagher

We’re guessing it must have been Noel’s turn to take Mama Gallagher out for Mother’s Day this year because by the sounds of it, younger brother Liam was out getting trolleyed and somehow managed to get himself thrown out of a pub that he’d already been refused a drink in just a few days before. According to the owner of The Queens in Crouch End, Liam was displaying fairly obvious signs of having had one too many and the staff there did the responsible thing and refused to fuel his booze-ridden behaviour.

Although the pub deleted a tweet about the situation (Daily Mail reported that it said “We’ve had to kick Liam Gallagher out twice today. He asked whether it was because he was a rock star. We said no, just a drunken twit”), the owner did speak to The Sun, telling them “We just said we couldn’t serve him because he was too drunk. He was treated like any other normal customer. It doesn’t matter who you are – if we think you are too drunk we will not serve you.” the landlord added “He was fine about it and left without a fuss.” Then, going into the history of the incident, he explained “He’d been refused a drink earlier in the week, I think it was Wednesday evening. He was slurring his words.”

Numerous rockstars flocked to launch of Liam Gallagher's Pretty Green London Collections: Men's Autumn/Winter 2013 on Monday night (January 7th 2013) at The Arts Club and he certainly seemed to be in celebratory mode. He was spotted in his usual indie get-up with a black jacket and jeans, decidedly avoiding the opportunity to don a smart suit on the red carpet. On the other hand, he wasn't the only one - his longtime bandmate Gem Archer, who joined him in his band Beady Eye after Oasis, wore an identical jacket and their friend Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan favoured very similar style shoes. Andy Bell, also from Beady Eye, attended though looked distinctly smarter.

Gallagher's wife Nicole Appleton from All Saints was also at the event showing her support for her fashion designer husband. Aside from the new collection, he has several ventures for Pretty Green he wants to concentrate on in 2013 including a range of eyewear and bags to add to the business in its fourth year of running. 'We're looking into accessories heavily, having dabbled in footwear', he said at the launch. 'The world's our oyster really, we'd like to think. There's the opportunity to grow into what we want.'

Liam Gallagher Proves He's Still Young At Heart During 40th Celebrations

Liam Gallagher Nicole Appleton Holly Willoughby

Liam Gallagher may have just turned forty, but that by no means meant that the Beady Eye rocker is readying himself to settle down as he had a massive blow-out to celebrate the landmark 40th birthday.

The only thing that signalled any change in Gallagher's self-assigned bad boy image was his birthday suit - a black tuxedo complete with bow tie - quite a change from his usual unkempt look. Although, he did do his best to make the black tie attire a little more Gallagher-esque, by untucking his shirt and giving the waiting paps a mouthful when he arrived with wife Nicole Appleton.

The festivities, which was sponsored by vodka brand Ciroc, was attended by a few close friends and family as well as a few famous faces who showed up. Nicole's sister and fellow former All Saints singer sister Natalie and her husband Liam Howlett of The Prodigy were there as was TV presenter Holly Willoughby.
