It's no secret that Dunham represents women's rights in all forms, and part of that is the right to be whatever size you happened to be and still be beautiful. The 'Girls' star herself is proud of her curvacious figure and has never been afraid of revealing all on the small screen. The Top Moments From Lena Dunham's SXSW Keynote Speech

Lena Dunham Adam Driver

Lena Dunham’s keynote speech at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, reinforced precisely why we love her. She may have her critics out there who are more than ready to pounce on everything that she says and does, but our girl Lena has her head screwed on and a pretty accurate outlook on the equally opportunities landscape.

Lena recalled how her first cut of short film Creative Nonfiction was rejected by the festival, but after a few edits on her part they finally accepted it. She claims that the festival “proved to be the greatest week of my life...I ate tacos. I drank milkshakes. I swam in Barton Springs. I drank a beer at a backyard rock show and talked to cute guys who would’ve never given me the time of day in New York.”

The Critics Have Their Say On Lena Dunham Hosting 'Saturday Night Live'

Lena Dunham Jim Parsons

So, reviews for Lena Dunham’s stint hosting Saturday Night Live have been a very mixed bag. While her sitcom Girls has been met with international acclaim, Lena also has her fair share of critics out there. Particularly those who slam the 27 year old for her regular nudity on Girls and, well, pretty much every other appearance she does. Her SNL hosting job last Saturday to mark International Women’s Day was no exception.

The highlight for us, and many others who reviewed the sketch show, had to be the ‘Biblical Movie‘ sketch. Appearing as Eve, Lena characteristically wears no clothes, alongside SNL’s Taran Killam, who played Adam (Driver). Genius. The result was a smorgasbord of feminism, while Lena also customarily poked fun at herself (appearing surrounded by decimated apples).

Sex And The City Vs. Girls: Can We Compare The HBO Shows?

Lena Dunham Sarah Jessica Parker

Sex and the City meant glamour. Each week young women would tune in to watch Carrie hobble through New York donning a pair of skyscraper Manolo Blahnik shoes, climbing in and out of Big’s chauffeur driven car and working her way through the most eligible men in the city. The gal pals would meet over their Cosmopolitan cocktails to swap stories about their fabulous lives while the girls would drop what they were doing at a moment’s notice if each other were in need, because, in the immortal words of Carrie: “our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with”.

Sex and the City movie
Sex and the City remains one of the most popular shows of all time.

Fast forward ten years, since the end of the sitcom and we find ourselves with a new female oriented show to contend with SATC. Like Carrie, Girls' Hannah is a writer, living in New York City, figuring out life and love along with her girl friends who are of similar age. It would be easy to say that the 10 year age gap between Hannah and her pals and Carrie and hers can be held responsible for the fundamental differences in the two shows, but despite outward similarities they are still worlds apart.

Have Lena Dunham's Nude Scenes In GIRLS Redefined The 'Acceptable Female Body'?

Lena Dunham

As you may have gathered from my previous GIRLS article, I’m a big fan of the show. It’s a fairly accurate depiction of life for a modern 20-something, a life that the older generation can’t seem to grasp when they constantly ask why most of us are still unemployed or earning practically peanuts in our mid-twenties.

Lena Dunham Nudity There's been much debate over Lena Dunham's nudity in HBO hit show, GIRLS

Unlike HBO’s last female-centric hit show, Sex and the City, where each of the characters lived glamorous and envious lifestyles, attending constant nightclub openings wearing Manolo Blahnik’s and Dior, GIRLS is realistic. Sex and the City embodied the late 90‘s girl power ethos, revving women up to be either strong, sexual-predator-come-PR-guru, Samantha Jones or stick-thin, designer-wardrobe-wearing Carrie with her famous column advertised on the side of a New York bus. In comparison to the Cosmopolitan-swilling Sex and the City, GIRLS is like comfort food, reassuring but not always easy to digest.

Girls Season 3 Episode 6 Recap: Free Snacks, Bleak Sex And A Regretful Ex [Video]

Lena Dunham

It's easy to see whilst having built up an army of ardent fans, HBO's Girls has simultaneously accrued a league of haters, frustrated with the cyclical themes and character ruts that endear some but infuriate others. By now everyone knows that the HBO vehicle is essentially a weekly half hour of privileged people running around, complaining about problems that aren’t really problems and everyone, who isn’t interested in that has switched the channel. Andy Samberg Andre Braugher Lena Dunham

This week's Golden Globe Awards brought the news that aside from scores of deserving winners, there had been left even more equally deserving snubs. New comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine however, was not one of the snubbed titles and instead cleaned up the comedy categories with two Golden Globe awards amidst fierce competition.

'Girls' Producers Defend Nudity At TCA Panel

Lena Dunham Girls

One member of the press will definitely not be interviewing Lena Dunham or the Girls producers again anytime soon. The Girls creator was faced with some impertinent questions about her frequent appearances in the nude during the show.

During a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour on Thursday (9th January), a reporter questioned Dunham her decision to appear nude on the show. The reporter questioned, according to The Huffington Post, the purpose of nudity in the show. He said "I don't get the purpose of all the nudity on the show, by [Dunham] in particular. I feel like I'm walking into a trap where you go, 'Nobody complains about all the nudity on Game of Thrones, but I get why they do it. They do it to be salacious and titillate people. And your character is often nude at random times for no reason."

Lena Dunham took offence when a reporter at a press conference for the new series of comedy Girls asked why there was so much nudity in the show. In a knee-jerk reaction, Dunham, who both writes for and performs on the show, laid into the journalist at the Television Critics Press tour in Pasadena during which Girls was renewed for a fourth season.

Girls Crew Get Shirty Over Nudity Questioning At TCA Session - Apatow Is Out Of Line

Lena Dunham Judd Apatow

‘Girls’ is a good show. It’s a good, funny show with interesting ideas and a well-cast, talented crew on board. And you don’t even need to trust this humble staff writer’s opinion on that: it’s won tonnes of awards and shifted loads of DVDs.

Lena DunhamLena Dunham is happy and willing to do nude scenes

But there are two things that split opinions regarding the show: its lack of cultural diversity and the heavy slant on nudity. And both of those things came to the fore when critics posed questions to the Girls gang at a TCA session. It was the latter that has made the news.

Girls is coming back to HBO in the new year and to celebrate that fact an all-new trailer for the upcoming third season has been released. The new season will pick up where we last left Hannah (Lena Dunham) and her circle of friends - played by Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver and Alex Karpovsky - when it returns on 12 January, 2014.

The Girls girls have already found success with the series

It actually looks as though things are looking up for Hannah in the third season, having meetings with publishers and potentially making strides in her career at last. In the trailer, Hannah, Marnie (Williams), Shoshana (Mamet) and Jessa (Kirke) are each contemplating just how far they've come -or rather how far they haven't come- in the years since they graduated college. Nevertheless, it does seem as though things are finally starting to look up for the group, Hannah in particular.

Lady Gaga Gets Critical Over "Too Beautiful" Picture On 'Glamour' Front Cover

Lady GaGa Lena Dunham

Lady GaGa stars as the front cover star of December's edition of Glamour magazine. In her feature interview, the star discusses her new album, her insecurities and beauty and body image in today's society, arguments that are kind of condescended against when you notice how photoshopped Gaga's picture is on the front of the magazine.

Lady Gaga
Gaga attended the event with her hair in a bunch, like the above photo, and an all-white suit

It turns out that Gaga was unwittingly photoshopped like mad for the cover picture, and in a show of defiance the singer has called out the magazine for doctoring her image so much. Gaga didn't just write a tweet or an open letter to dispute the image though, instead she went right to the source and called out the magazine in their own yard.

"Girls XXX" Is Not A Title Lena Dunham Likes To Hear

Lena Dunham

It was bound to happen eventually – Lena Dunham’s hit HBO series Girls now has a porn parody. Rule 34 strikes again – namely that, if something exists, so does porn about it. The decision to, um, adapt Girls is a bit of a weird one though – since the show, written, directed and produced by Dunham, already has its fair share of nudity and sex scenes. Now before you go googling the thing – as we suspect most people reading this will do – be warned: it will get pretty weird. Adult film star Richie Calhoun, who plays lead character Hannah's boyfriend Adam in “This Ain’t Girls XXX” (not the best title by far) had this to say about the production to adult entertainment site xbiz.com: “I tried to make it as weird as possible. I tried to say really weird things and do really weird positions.”

The premise of the whole video is pretty simple. Hannah leaves Adam to experiment with homosexuality, but later returns to men. It doesn’t sound all that thrilling, but the shoddy premise probably isn’t the only reason for Lena Dunham’s disapproval. And the Girls creator certainly isn’t happy about the video’s existence, as she shared on Twitter this Thursday.

“I wish I had a better attitude about the Girls porn parody. I really can never predict what will trouble me and it's simply exhausting,” she commented via the social network.

When Lena Dunham Met Sarah Jessica Parker At The Met Ball [Pictures]

Lena Dunham Sarah Jessica Parker HBO

What could possibly happen should Lena Dunham ever meet her hero Sarah Jessica Parker? That's what fans of the Girls star have asked themselves over the past year, but the waiting is finally up: the two women have finally met, at New York's Museum of Art's Costume Institute benefit gala on Monday night (May 6, 2013).

Dunham has made no secret of her love for Sex and the City or its influence on her award winning show. During an interview with TIME magazine, the writer and actress explained, "That was sort of the first thought was that Shoshanna [Zosia Mamet's character] would have moved to New York because of Sex in the City.  And a lot of these girls, even Hannah who might make fun of the girl who wears the "I'm a Carrie" T-shirt, part of the reason she came to New York is clearly because she thought she was a Carrie. It's almost like not only is this a show that talks about Sex and the City, these are women who couldn't exist without Sex and the City."

So what happened when Dunham met Parker? Well, there was plenty of hugging, plenty of air-kissing and plenty of animated conversation. Dunham wore a slender black Erdem gown while Parker, 48, opted for a Giles Deacon satiny print gown with mohawk-style headdress.

Was Christopher Abbott Booted Off 'Girls'?

Lena Dunham Christopher Abbott

After reports recently started circulating that Christopher Abbott, who plays the character of Charlie on HBO’s Girls, wasn’t exactly getting along with the show’s creator Lena Dunham, the announcement has now been made that he will not be returning for Season 3. A source alleged: "They’ve just started work on Season 3, and Chris is at odds with Lena. He didn’t like the direction things are going in, which seems a bit odd since the show put him on the map."

Creative disagreements? It’s possible, but Abbott’s rep didn’t let anything slip in his statement, confirming the news: "(Chris) is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd (Apatow), and the entire ‘Girls’ cast and crew, but right now he’s working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show.”

So what exactly are these other projects? A role on a rising HBO series seems like a cushy gig, so the actor must have something equally as exciting lined up, right? Well, his next film is the indie flick The Sleepwalker. Hardly a step up from Girls. Meanwhile, Lena Dunham didn’t seem the least bit fussed about the actor’s departure, and instead devoted her Twitter stream to praising the current It-girl of pop, Taylor Swift.

Christopher Abbott Abruptly Leaves 'Girls' After "Issues" With Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham Allison Williams Christopher Abbott HBO

Just when things were hotting up between Christopher Abbott's character Charlie and Allison Williams' Marnie on HBO series Girls, the actor has abruptly left the series due to issues he was having with creator Lena Dunham. Abbott played Marnie's college sweetheart Charlie, a sort of weedy good-looking New Yorker who ends up becoming super-desirable after setting up his own social media company and renting a swanky office in Manhattan.

Anyway, his character was just beginning to gain a little prominence in the show - which follows the lives of various twenty-somethings in Brooklyn - when he had an almighty row with Dunham over the direction of season three. They've just started work on Season 3, and Chris is at odds with Lena," a source said. "He didn't like the direction things are going in, which seems a bit odd since the show put him on the map," said a source familiar with the discussions.

Abbott's representative offered little in the way of a full explanation for his sudden departure, though did say, "[Chris] is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd[Apatow], and the entire 'Girls' cast and crew, but right now he's working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show." He recently appeared in the indie movie 'Burma' which debuted at SCSW last month and is set to star in drama 'The Sleepwalker' from director Mona Fastvold. The movie tells the story of a woman whose life is shattered over the course of a long weekend when her estranged sister Christine arrives unannounced in the middle of the night, with no memory of how she got there.

This Is 40 Review

Very Good

This overlong comedy is so episodic that watching it is exactly like sitting through five episodes of a sitcom back-to-back. It's funny and enjoyable, with characters we enjoy watching, but they continually spiral back to where they started, and in the end we feel like there's been a lot of fuss about nothing. Even so, the script offers plenty of hilarious observational humour, and the cast is thoroughly entertaining.

Reprising their roles from Knocked Up, Rudd and Mann play Debbie and Pete, who turn 40 within a week of each other. But Debbie isn't coping very well with it, and her emotions swing wildly from steamy lust to fiery rage while Pete just tries to hang on. Their daughters (played by Apatow and Mann's real daughters Maude and Iris) each have their own issues to stir into the mix. And then Pete's needy father (Brooks) turns up with problems of his own, forcing Debbie to think about her own distant father (Lithgow). Meanwhile, the economic crunch is causing problems for both of their businesses.

Yes, both of them own businesses. This is not the typical struggling 40-something couple, so it's not easy to sympathise with many of their issues. Fortunately, Apatow's dialog is packed with brazen honesty and an appreciation for rude gags that keep us laughing even in the absence of an actual storyline we can get involved in (although there's one major plot point along the way). Rudd and Mann were arguably the best thing in Knocked Up, so it's great to let them take the spotlight here, making the most of their sparky interaction. And aside from experts like Brooks and Lithgow, there is a continual stream of superb side roles, including Fox as Debbie's oversexed and possibly embezzling employee and McCarthy as a furious school parent (her big scene is expanded into a brilliantly improvised outtake riff in the closing credits).

Ben Affleck Scoops Up Yet Another Director Award For Argo At DGAs

Ben Affleck George Clooney Grant Heslov Jay Roach Lena Dunham

The awards just keep on coming for Ben Affleck and his CIA drama Argo, as the actor/director/producer/writer and all-round Renaissance man picked up the award for Best Director at the Director's Guild of America Awards last night.

This makes six awards given to Affleck for directing alone, including a Golden Globe, and the DGA one might not even be his last. The latest award also seems to suggest even more strongly that Affleck will pick up the Best Picture Oscar at the end of the month alongside his fellow producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov, but something tells us that after his latest success Affleck might still be ruing his snub from the director category.

During his acceptance speech, Affleck admitted that he may still have some way to go before he can call himself a director, with Argo being only his third film behind the lens (after the critically acclaimed Gone Baby Gone and The Town) he said, "I don't think that this makes me a real director, but I think it means I'm on my way." Backstage he addressed the Oscar snub too, modestly saying, "you're not entitled to anything."

Lena Dunham To Start Work On New HBO Show After 'Girls' Success

Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham couldn't be hotter property right given the massive success that iw her HBO show Girls and now the comedienne is set to to pen a brand new series for the premium cable channel about personal shopper Betty Halbreich.

Often touted as the successor to the hugely successful Sex in the City, the Girls creator will now be concentrating her time on the woman who inspired the fashion - Halbreich, the the personal shopping empress that has been functioning as New York's fashion heart beat since 1976.

Dunham has been signed up by HBO to adapt the fashion Queen's soon-to-be-published memoir All Dressed Up and Everywhere To Go, which follows the life of the now 85-year-old fashion kingpin. According to a spokesperson from the network, the upcoming show will follow the same successful format that has worked so well for the BBC memoir interpretation Call The Midwife, which is based on the diaries of 1950s London midwife Jennifer Worth.

Howard Stern Just Can't Get A Rise Out Of "Girls" Creator Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham Howard Stern

Is it a foot-in-mouth, if Howard Stern does it?

Maybe not, since it is pretty much the shock jock’s job to offend people, but the rare occasion has come when Howard Stern himself has apologized, NY Daily News reports. Well, sort of. After Stern called Girls creator Lena Dunham a “little fat chick” in one of his radio rants, he later had this to add: “I felt bad because I really do love the show Girls," he said on air Monday (January 14). "I admire the girl who writes it. It makes me feel bad, and I think she is getting the impression that I somehow think she's just a talentless little fat chick.” Wonder how people got that idea.

To her credit, Dunham’s response to Stern’s trolling was quite gracious: "I think Howard Stern's really earned the right to freedom of speech," she told the Daily News' Confidenti@l column at the "Girls" second-season premiere event. After her success at the Golden Globes, Dunham can certainly afford to be noble, and it’s made Stern alter his words as well: "Good for her. It's hard for little fat chicks to get anything going." What, did anyone actually expect Howard Stern to be nice?

Howard Stern Attempts Backtrack After Calling Lena Dunham A "Little Fat Girl"

Lena Dunham Howard Stern

Howard Stern, to his credit, has really tried to make things better after insulting Girls creator, Lena Dunham. Unfortunately, and to his discredit, the things he said were pretty awful, and almost impossible to come back from.

Stern called Dunham "a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill" and that watching the her multi-award winning (most recently Golden Globe winning) show Girls, "feels like a rape" adding "I don't want to see that." Now, that's nasty stuff whatever the context, but he's picked up his shovel named contrition and started digging for light. "I felt bad because I really do love the show 'Girls,' and enjoy it, and I admire the girl who writes it," Stern said of Dunham on Monday. "It makes me feel bad, and I think she is getting the impression that I somehow think she's just a talentless little fat chick."

We can't really speak for Dunham, she does that for herself in her interviews, and via Girls which, again, has wowed critics and fans alike, winning loads of awards on the way. We can, however, suggest to Stern, that if he doesn't want people to get the impression he thinks they're talentless little fat chicks, then he shouldn't call them little fat chicks. It's easy. Really easy stuff. Dunham, clearly unperturbed by his comments, told Letterman, "It put me in the best mood! I just want to be like, my gravestone says, 'She was a little fat chick and she got it going.'"

Will Poor James Corden Ever Make It Onto Lena Dunham's Girls?

Lena Dunham James Corden

British star James Corden says he's still holding out for a role on Lena Dunham's Golden Globe winning comedy series Girls. The Gavin & Stacey actor was sounded out by Dunham and co-writer Jenni Konner for the first series, though his commitments to Broadway show One Man, Two Guvnors meant he was unable to take part.

The 34-year-old says he's still keen to hook up with Dunham - considered one of the most exciting writing talents in television. "I was approached to be in the first series but had to decline due to work commitments; I really hope it works out that I can be in the show in the future. I think working with Lena would be an amazing experience," Corden told Company magazine. The season two premiere of Girls aired on Sunday (January 13, 2013) to unanimous praise from critics. It follows the story of various twenty-somethings living in New York City, though without the glitz and glamour of Sex and the City, Gossip Girl and the like. Corden added, "Girls is smart, funny, moving and completely original. Lena Dunham has written a show about real people in real situations, and the best thing about it is that real people love it. It also has - what I think to be - one of the best male performances ever by Adam, played by Adam Driver. His performance is so captivating and brilliant."

Writer Konner revealed he had approached Corden for the show having become "obsessed" with Gavin & Stacey, the BBC comedy that made the actor a household name.

'She's A Fat Little Girl,' But Girls' Lena Dunham Brushes Off Howard Stern Comments

Lena Dunham Howard Stern

Howard Stern has used his shock-jock tactics so many times on his radio show that, surely, we should all have long since ceased to be getting shocked by him. However, he was at it once again recently, dissing the recent Golden Globe-winning HBO show Girls, and calling its star Lena Dunham a “fat little girl”.

'It's a little fat girl who kinda looks like Jonah Hill and she keeps taking her clothes off and it kind of feels like rape. She seems - it's like - I don't want to see that,' Stern said, according to the Daily Mail. “I learned that this little fat chick writes the show and directs the show and that makes sense to me because she's such a camera hog that the other characters barely are on” he continued, boringly. “My opinion, if I was a producer on that, I'd say, 'Honey, you're a little too close to the project. You need to allow the other characters to breathe a little and let us get invested in them,' he added whilst the world checked their watch. “Good for her. It's hard for little fat chicks to get anything going.”

Dunham took it very well indeed, telling David Letterman “I did find out that Howard Stern really hates [Girls]. I'm a Howard Stern fan, and really think he has earned the right to free speech and he should just go for it.” Continuing, she added 'But he did say something that is so funny that I wanna get it on my gravestone: 'Congrats to her (Dunham). It's so hard for little fat chicks to get anything going these days'. I want my gravestone to say, 'she was a little fat chick and she got it going'.” The actress has had plenty of support on Twitter in light of the comments, whilst celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson told Us Weekly “He’s, like, literally desensitized himself so much over the years. That guy doesn’t know what’s sexy. What is sexy is the way that Lena exposes herself, exposes her soul, wears her heart on her sleeves and is so freaking confident — that’s sexy.”

One thing particularly apparent at the Golden Globes 2013 was that actresses were prepared to take style chances. Not every outfit worked out, but it was worth the risk for many of Hollywood's biggest names. Cherry red was a favored color, while cut-out dresses, black gowns and intricate detailing were in abundance.

Controversial Girls Returning To HBO On Sunday

Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham’s Girls is set to return to HBO this Sunday and sadly, the show itself isn’t raising nearly as much hype as its creator.

Lena Dunham herself has been stirring up some controversy, mostly with her penchant for onscreen nudity. And while you’d think that, since this isn’t the 1950s after all, we’ve all worked past our collective issues with nudity, it would seem that now people are getting just as hung up about it, only in the opposite direction.

Dunham’s apparently comfortable enough in her body to display it onscreen and while there’s certainly nothing wrong with that, it would seem that critics are going so far in praising that quirk of her character, that they are portraying Girls as some sort of cultural Zeitgeist. And, as fun as the series may be, it is just a half-hour comedy. Nothing more, nothing less. A good, fresh comedy it may be, but it is by no means changing the world. And that’s ok, since it was never out to change the world anyway, which is what some of those, praising the show and its creator seem to think. Nevertheless, this second season is shaping up to be the deciding one for Girls. So you may want to tune in to HBO tomorrow night at 9pm ET and make up your own mind.

HBO Reveal Second Girls Season 2 Trailer!

Lena Dunham

Everyone’s getting pretty pumped about the new series of Girls, and they’ve even more reason to be so now that HBO have revealed a trailer ahead of the forthcoming second season.

"Everybody acts like I'm nuts," Lena Dunham's character Hannah says in the new trailer. "I'm not nuts, I just want to feel it all." It’s hard to tell whether she’s going to feel it all or not in this short trailer, which you can see below. It’s the second to be released by the network, with the show based around some of the 26 year-old Dunham’s real life experiences. Presumably this gives it a bit of a shelf life given that eventually they’ll just be getting up to the parts of Dunham’s life when she’s starting to make an HBO drama about some of her real life experiences in some sort of incredibly dull Groundhog day scenario.

That said, for now the show’s proved hugely popular since it began in April of this year, and it up for a few nods in some forthcoming awards, not least the Golden Globes where it’s been nominated for Best Television Series – Comedy Or Musical, with Dunham nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy Or Musical. The second season is due to get underway on January 13, 2013 - check out the trailer below.

Demi Moore's new boyfriend is 26 years-old. That's 3 years younger than her ex-husband Ashton Kutcher - as Alan Partridge might say, "Cashback". Ok, so art dealer Vito Schnabel might not be as rich as the Two and a Half Men star, but we reckon he's still got a healthy bank balance.

They reportedly got together at a lavish 50th birthday party in India, thrown by supermodel Naomi Campbell for her billionaire boyfriend Vladimir Doronin. A source said, "They were dancing and grinding all over each other, openly, in front of other guests." So who is this mysterious art dealer? Here's 7 things you should know about Demi's new love, Vito Schnabel.

1. He's only 26. Ok, so we've already gone through this, but it's probably worth repeating. It pretty much sets in stone the long held theory that Moore loves a younger man.

And the latest in line to go public in their love for the President of the United States of America, in the run-up to next month’s elections is the comedian Lena Dunham, star and creator of HBO’s hot new comedy Girls.

Entitled ‘Your First Time,’ the video starts off with Lena talking seductively about the kind of guy that you want your ‘first time’ to be with and of course, you’ll start off assuming that she’s talking about losing your virginity, as she says things like “The first time shouldn't be with just anybody. You want to do it with a great guy. Someone who really cares about and understands women… a guy who cares whether you get health insurance and specifically whether you get birth control.” Pretty quickly, though, you realize that Lena isn’t talking about sex at all, but voting for the first time and quips that when she did, she went from being a girl to a woman.

Lena Dunham Set To Write An Advice Book For Girls

Lena Dunham

Almost all of Lena Dunham's work to date has been semi-autobiographical. Her hit US comedy drama 'Girls' has some story-lines based loosely on her own 'real-life' occurrences. Tiny Furniture, Dunham's second feature-length film, that won a host of awards, saw her play the main character Aura, and Dunham's own mother and sister play Aura's mother and sister, respectively. One can't help but wonder whether the characters and plot line may, in fact, be based upon herself, mother and sister. All the signs are there.

Almost all of Dunham's semi-autobiographic work is also brilliantly witty, enjoyable and clever. So, when it's released that Dunham is set to write a book largely based on her own life and subsequent advice rising from her own life experiences, we can't help but be a little excited.

The Browbeat blog on Slate.com announced that “according to the proposal” the book will include “candid accounts of losing her virginity, trying to eat well (detailed diet journal included), obsessing about death... along with tips about how to stay focused on work, how not to ruin a potential relationship, and... will recount various ways in which older men continue to be condescending and sexist”. All of which sound like solid ground for a brilliantly hilarious read.
