Former ‘Glee’ actress and pop star Lea Michele has found a permanent way to commemorate her old boyfriend, Cory Monteith, by getting a new tattoo.

Michele showed off two new inkings she’s received with a couple of pictures on Twitter on Tuesday (April 12th). The first, of a coffee cup on the outside of her ring finger, was in memory of her grandmother, who passed away late last week. “For you Grandma.. I love you forever,” the caption read.

The second was in honour of her ‘Glee’ co-star and real-life former boyfriend Monteith who died in July 2013, was of the number five – a reference to the jersey number worn by his character Finn Hudson on the show. “And one more for my quarterback,” she wrote.

The 29 year old actress had been in a two-year relationship with Canadian actor Monteith when he died on July 13th 2013 of a drug and alcohol overdose. He had struggled with addiction and substance abuse since his teenage years, despite family interventions.

On the second anniversary of his death last year, Michele had tweeted: “Today we remember the laughter and joy you brought into our lives every day. We think of you always and love you so.”

Michele also dedicated a track from her debut album Louder in 2014, ‘If You Say So’, to Monteith’s memory. She has since dated Matthew Paetz, but the couple called it quits last year.

She explained to Ellen DeGeneres in late 2013, a few months after his passing, about how she was getting over her loss. “There is an empowerment that comes with grief - at some point you find it… …it's very hard but you will find it, and I think at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise. And that's what I'm just trying to do my best for him, because I know that that's what he would have [wanted].”
