Lorelai and Rory are coming back and it’s been too long!
After months of speculation the return of 'Gilmore Girls' has officially been confirmed! The much loved series will be given a reboot by streaming service Netflix and include most of the show’s original cast, along with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
Lauren Graham is ready to return to ‘Gilmore Girls’.
According to the Hollywood Reporter stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena are all scheduled to return. The show’s creator Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino will write and direct all of the new episodes.
Not much information on the reboot has been given, but back in October when talk of a ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival first began, THR wrote it would consist of four 90-minute movies, rather than the traditional 10 episode series format.
When news of the revival broke Lauren Graham shared her excitement, recording a special message for fans of the show. “We haven’t even started shooting and I haven’t even seen any of the scripts,” Graham said in video posted by Logo TV on Friday.
“All I can tell you is it is because of you, the devoted fans, that I get to revisit this character and go back to this world. And we are all so excited and so thankful.” ‘Gilmore Girls’ originally ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007 on the WB and the CW networks. It also starred Melissa McCarthy in her first major TV role, however she is not expected to return for the Netflix revival.
