'Humming by the Flowered Vine' is the much-anticipated third album. Her two previous albums were released by Diesel Only Records in the U.S. and Shoeshine/Spit & Polish in the U.K.

Nashville-born , New York -based performer is now signed to Matador Records and 'Humming by the Flowered Vine' is scheduled for June 21

I would describe Laura’s style as being country. It includes experience and maturity making this album more special to Laura. The gists of the songs are that they are ‘nice’ and light. They are full of emotion but the listeners can’t really tell. To me, she sounds too much like the country Shania Twain - and that’s not good!

The new songs that will feature on Laura’s new album include originals from previous albums such as "Khaki and Corduroy," an adaptation on her experience as a southerner attending university in New York City, and "California Rose," inspired by the life of California country music star Rose Maddox. This is her obvious influence as her style is similar!

The album will also feature a version of the murder ballad "Poor Ellen Smith," which was published in the 1927 book American Mountain Songs by Cantrell's great, great aunt Ethel Park Richardson.

She was widely acclaimed by the likes of the late John Peel and Elvis Costello – who she supported on tour!

Laura Cantrell will be performing on July 22 at the London Shepherds Bush Empire, July 26 in Manchester at the Bridgewater Hall and on July 27 in Glasgow Academy.
