A Las Vegas Coroner Has Ruled B.B. King Died Of Natural Causes And Was Not Poisoned, Despite Allegations From Two Of The Blues Legend's Daughters.
The 89-year-old music icon passed away in May (15) at his home in Sin City after suffering a series of strokes, but shortly after, two of his daughters, Patty King and Karen Williams, called for a police investigation over their father's death.
The siblings alleged he was deliberately poisoned by his longtime manager LaVerne Toney, and his personal assistant, Myron Johnson, but a lawyer for Toney and Johnson slammed the accusations, calling the claims defamatory and libellous.
Nearly two months later, Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg's autopsy tests were made public on Monday (13Jul15), establishing that the cause of King's death was Alzheimer's disease with other physical conditions including coronary disease, heart failure and the effects of Type 2 diabetes.
Fudenberg's ruling closes the official investigations of King's death.
