Blue Jeans Telstar 10.02.03 The first track a heard by Ladytron was Sixteen, a chic, sexy & clever electro pop number. I instantly enjoyed the idea of emotionally cold, art drunk teenagers with foppish haircuts in suits. It reminded me of days gone by, like a long hard stare back into the eighties that you didn't automatically want to blank out and pretend wasn't happening. It awakened the memory that some of the long forgotten work of the eighties was futuristic in it's own right & still stands up today (early Human League). Blue Jeans is the first offering since Ladytron released Light & Magic their debut album back in December. Blue Jeans is also a sassy synth based track but for some reason it doesn't live up to it's predecessor. www.ladytron.com March (sat) 15| PORTSMOUTH | Wedgewood Rooms (mon) 17 | LEEDS | Metro (tue) 18| OXFORD | Brookes University (thu) 20 | LONDON | Electric Ballroom (fri) 21 | BIRMINGHAM | Academy (sat) 22 | BRISTOL | Academy (mon) 24 |SHEFFIELD| Leadmill (tue) 25| MANCHESTER |MDH (wed) 26| BRIGHTON |Concorde 2 (fri) 28 |ABERDEEN |Lemon Tree (sat) 29| GLASGOW | QMU |
