What started out as just four cancellations has turned into the whole Born This Way tour, with Lady GaGa pulling out her US jaunt and raising considerable concerns about the health and well-being of the multi-million selling pop star.

“Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been cancelled” a statement on the matter said. “After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.“

Gaga had given indication of her injury when cancelling two shows in Chicago, one in Detroit and one in Ontario earlier in the week. "There's an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the Born This Ball. Im so sorry. I barely know what to say," the singer had tweeted, "I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I've been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can't.” However, the latest development means that shows right up until the middle of March have been cancelled, a worrying sign for a star who prides herself on her relentless touring schedule.
