L'Wren Scott, an accomplished fashion designer and Mick Jagger's girlfriend, is being mourned by many fashion and show business stars following her sudden death.

The 49 year-old was found in her New York apartment after an apparent suicide.

Ms Scott's assistant found her hanging from a scarf on a doorknob at 200 11th Avenue around 10am, police said.

Authorities do not suspect foul play, but the Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.

Many people who knew her have noted that this has come as a huge shock due to her showing no signs of depression or struggling personal issues.

Once news broke of L'Wren's tragic passing, floods of tributes came pouring in.
