Director Paul Feig has shared the first picture of the Ghostbusters cast in costume. Feig has been teasing the release of the image for a number of weeks after sharing a number of sneak peeks with his fans on social media. The official image shows actors Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kat McKinnon all kitted up and ready to take on the paranormal.

A Deadly Adoption, Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig's Lifetime movie that was confirmed as being scrapped by the network, is to air on June 20. Fans had assumed the homage would be a lost forever, though a billboard in Los Angeles revealed the film will be airing later this month.

Melissa McCarthy's new action-comedy 'Spy' marks a leap in her career from supporting goofball (she was Oscar nominated for 'Bridesmaids') to co-lead (alongside Sandra Bullock in 'The Heat') and now to carrying a major blockbuster on her own shoulders. It's no coincidence that all three of these movies are directed by Paul Feig, a filmmaker who has long thought that more films should be centred on strong, funny women.

Paul Feig, the director of the upcoming all female Ghostbusters reboot has been at SXSW this weekend, showing his latest offering Spy starring Melissa McCarthy. Netflix's limited series Wet Hot American Summer is slowly accumulating one of the finest comedy casts of the year. Chris Pine, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig and Jason Schwartzmann have been tapped for the eight-part series from Michael Showalter (Stella) and David Wain (Role Models, Wanderlust).

It was a week for photo-calls, as the cast of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes gathered in San Francisco. Kristen Wiig will be taking her first ever role behind the camera for Tom Rothman's TriStar Productions.

Bill Hader, the voice behind Flint in Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, will be creating and starring in his very own show for HBO. The 35-year-old actor has signed an exclusive contract with HBO allowing him to develop a comedy series for the network, as Deadline reports. Hader's new series will join the network's collection of hit comedies including Girls and Veep.

The Sundance Film Festival is the place to be for young, aspiring filmmakers hoping to crack into the hotly-contested business of the movies. By the end of the film festival, which this year runs from 16-26 January, there are always a selection of film titles that are revived for the following awards season, and this year people are so eager for the celluloid showcase that a number of early contenders for festival glory have been marked before their debut release.

In thirty years the film has discovered some of the most promising filmmakers out there and continues to deliver, from Roland Joffé’s The Killing Fields in the festival's opening year (1985) to last year's most notable success; Fruitvale Station, the debut feature length from Ryan Coogler. With another 120 films to get through this year it seems more than likely that at least one of the releases will be leaving Park City, Utah, with more than a few skiing lessons and a commemorative t-shirt.
