Backers of the Kickstarter funded Veronica Mars movie encountered problems when attempting to view the pre-paid movie on Friday (14th March). The movie was available for streaming online via Flixter but a number of fans were left disappointed when they were unable to view the film.
Contributors to the Veronica Mars movie have been disappointed after they encountered problems watching the movie on an online platform, Flixter. Warner Bros, the studio behind the film, have promised disappointed backers a refund but this may be too little too late.

The project, which successfully achieved its funding goal on Kickstarter in April 2013, has been completed and the film was released in cinemas on Friday (14th March). Unfortunately, for some of the Kickstarter fundraisers (nicknamed Marshmallowers), they have not been able to access their promised digital download of the movie. The Marshmallowers in question have aired their grievances on the fundraising website and are calling for a refund from the studio behind the movie, Warner Bros.
The backers were provided with a code with which they could download the movie they had pre-paid for a year ago, due to their privileges as contributors, from Flixter. Unfortunately, this group of fans were told on Friday they would have to wait even longer to see the film. This has prompted a number of complaints as many users were reporting difficulties using the site and wished the film has been made available on a wider number of platforms.

Rob Thomas, the show's creator and main fundraiser, issued a statement on Kickstarter apologising for the inconvenience and explaining the difficulties of using a number of platforms for the film. He added "more than anything, I genuinely want today to be perfect for all of you. It's March 14. Today, your movie came out worldwide, and I want you to be able to watch it on whatever platform or device works best for your needs."
As a result Warner Bros, according to a representative speaking to The LA Times, have promised to offer their unhappy contributors a refund. A full refund of $10 has been promised for those who have turned to another platform to watch the movie or have successfully, after a short delay, watched Veronica Mars on Flixter. However, for many unhappy Marshmallowers, this is too little too late.
The film was released in the UK and US on Friday (14th March) and has already received warm reviews including a 97% positive audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Contactmusic critic, Rich Cline, has rated the film "good" and judged it to be worth 3.5 out of 5 stars.
