You might need to do a double take when watching the trailer for Testament of Youth, an epic love story set during the First World War. Yes that is none other than 'Game of Thrones' star Kit Harington, after having a shave and a hair cut, getting all romantic opposite Alicia Vikander.

Based on Vera Brittain's memoir, Testament of Youth tells the story of an epic love, torn apart by the horrors of war. The Fifth Estate’s Alicia Vikander stars as the ambitious and intelligent Vera, who overcomes stereotypes and prejudices in order to win a scholarship to Oxford.

While studying at the university and trying to follow her literary aspirations, Vera falls in love with her brother’s close friend Roland, played by Harington. But the couple’s love is soon put to the test as war breaks out and the pair are torn apart after Ronald enlists to fight and Vera delays her studies to volunteer as a nurse.

After suffering heartbreak and tragedy Vera then struggles to resume her life post war as part of the 'lost generation', before finding her voice as a feminist and a writer.

Vera's inspirational story, filled with love, loss and her own heroic spirt has now finally got the chance to be told on the big screen in this BBC produced film. Alongside Vikander and Harington the cast also includes, Taron Egerton, Colin Morgan, Dominic West, Emily Watson, Hayley Atwell, Miranda Richardson and Anna Chancellor.
