Kim Zolciak suffered a “mini stroke” on Tuesday (22nd September).
Kim Zolciak has been hospitalised after suffering a mini stroke. The reality star, who is currently a contestant on the 21st season of Dancing With The Stars, revealed she had suffered a health scare on Instagram on Wednesday morning (23rd September).
Kim Zolciak photographed leaving The Wendy Williams Show in Manhattan, April 2012.
Zolciak uploaded a picture of herself in a hospital gown and ECG electrodes can clearly be seen on her chest.
‘The last 24hrs have been whirlwind!’ Zolciak captioned the image. ‘I landed yesterday morning from LAX (took the red eye right after DWTS) I got home [to Atlanta] and within minutes suffered a TIA (mini stroke) the left side of my body went completely numb and my speech was gone.’
Zolciak continued by thanking her family – including her husband Kroy Biermann and daughter Brielle Zolciak - for their support and ‘quick reactions’.
‘I have 100% of my feeling back THANK GOD,’ Zolciak continued. ‘Still in the hospital but I just know I'm getting released today!’
Zolciak later shared a picture, taken by Brielle, of herself and Biermann embracing. ‘All that matters... FAMILY’ Zolciak wrote.
37-year-old Zolciak rose to prominence in 2008 when she became a main cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In the months before her marriage to Atlanta Falcons player Biermann in 2012, the run up to the wedding was the focus of a spin-off series Don’t Be Tardy. She left The Real Housewives in 2013.
It’s uncertain if Zolciak will be back on Dancing With the Stars. According to reports in E!, Zolciak missed her rehearsal with her professional partner Tony Dovolani on Tuesday (22nd September) as she wasn’t feeling well and flew back to Atlanta. She has yet to be released from hospital (as of Thursday morning) and she’s likely to miss a few more rehearsals whilst she recovers.
