Kim Kardashian West knew life ''wouldn't be very easy'' for North as the daughter of a superstar couple.

The reality TV star harboured fears during her first pregnancy about what life would be like for the little tot because her parents live firmly in the media spotlight and she felt compelled to share her concerns with her husband Kanye West.

Kim said: ''With the first pregnancy I told Kanye that it wouldn't be very easy to grow up being our daughter because of what she'll have to face. I prayed for it. Now I know she'll be able to handle it.''

The two year old - who was baptised in Jerusalem in April - was born five weeks premature in 2013 but is now a rising star in her own right and was recently gifted with three custom-made Balmain jackets from French designer Olivier Rousteing, who called her his ''muse''.

Meanwhile, Kim is pregnant with the couple's second child, a son, and revealed this pregnancy has brought on its own strains.

She said: ''The hardest thing this year was attending the Met gala because I was a bit over two months pregnant and with nausea.''

But becoming a mother and getting married to Kanye aren't the only changes she has faced in the past few years, as her step-parent Caitlyn Jenner has had a gender transition, which she has supported completely.

Speaking about the change, the 34-year-old star joked to Spain's Vogue magazine: ''I have already told Caitlyn that, as long as she doesn't steal my stylist, make up artist or hair dresser, we're good. We joke about it, it is fun to see her happy.''
