Self-styled queen of the selfie Kim Kardashian has secured one of her best snaps yet – with Democratic presidential candidacy frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

The 34 year old model, who is pregnant with her second child with rap megastar husband Kanye West, met the presidential hopeful at a private fundraising event in Los Angeles on Thursday evening (August 6th).

Perhaps the heavyweight celebrity backing will add a bit more youth credibility to the Clinton campaign, which looks to be steamrollering its way to the Democratic nomination at the start of next year.

“Excited to be meeting our next president tonight! 1st female president of the Hilary Clinton! Maybe she'll take a selfie with me,” the reality TV star wrote in an original tweet in which she misspelt Clinton’s first name. She quickly took it down and re-posted it correctly, however, but not after many people piled in to mock her spelling.

Shortly afterwards, she posted a picture of herself posing with the 67 year old politician, with Kanye standing off to the right in the background. “I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing her speak & hearing her goals for our country! #HillaryForPresident,” she wrote as a caption.

Around 250 people attended the exclusive, sold-out event, which reportedly cost $2,700 to attend, held at the $13.1 million home of Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, according to the Daily Mail. Kim’s mother Kris Jenner also attended the do, along with Jessica Alba and Tom Hanks.

This was going on at the same time as the Republican presidential candidates, including the controversial frontrunner Donald Trump, were busy taking each other down in a live debate on Fox News broadcast from Cleveland, Ohio.
