After collaborating with Mike Skinner on a couple of The Streets singles and always on live backing it seems that a bit of the vernacular has rubbed off. Easily lumped in with the council estate poetry of Skinnyman and Skinner, KMT brings a slice of Jamaica into play too…it sort of… works.
“Bruv let me tell yabout, a little drama mixed wiv a little karma makes a prat out ov yow, makes a prat out ov yow”
This song tells a story of drunken regret, of having one too many and acting like a fool; we’ve all done it and most of us would tell it just like KMT has here (except without the use of the word bruv if you were telling your Mum).
So that’s the lyrics out the way. The production is nice with good use of a fat bass line, added to the lyrics almost distracts from the cheesiness of the melody. Don’t be put off with my lack of conviction for this tune though; I know there’s a lot more to come from this lad.
