The actor joined the team of Encore Community Services, an organisation which looks after needy senior citizens, on Tuesday (18Aug15) to help out in the kitchen, cooking and packing food for the Citymeals-on-Wheels service.

He then teamed up with the delivery crew to hand out dinners across the city.

Bacon shared pictures of the day on his Twitter.com page and the snaps show him wearing a chef's hat in the kitchen and talking to elderly recipients during his home visits.

A message tweeted by Citymeals-on-Wheels reads, "Who doesn't love #bacon in the morning? @kevinbacon is preparing & delivering meals for frail aged NYers today!.. Grateful to @kevinbacon... for delivering meals & spreading awareness about the needs of elderly NYers (sic)."
