Fashion Police could be cancelled ''quietly'' by E! bosses after co-hosts Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne both stepped down from the show amid controversy about fellow host Giuliana Rancic's comments about Zendaya's hair.
'Fashion Police' may be cancelled ''quietly''.
Bosses of the E! show are said to be thinking about cancelling it altogether following the decisions of both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin to quit after the controversy surrounding fellow host Giuliana Rancic's comments about Zendaya's dreadlocks smelling like ''weed''.
A source shared: ''They have off this month, but don't be surprised if they cancel it quietly in a matter of weeks, when the craziness dies down a little.''
In the wake of Kathy - who replaced Joan Rivers on the show after she passed away last year - and Kelly's departures from the show, just Giuliana and Brad Goreski are left as co-hosts with Joan's daughter Melissa as executive producer and senior bosses at E! are said to be struggling to find anyone who'd be able to carry the show in the same way Joan did.
The source added: ''Melissa is a producer, not a leader; she can't get control of the situation.''
E! executives have reportedly labelled the show a ''hassle'' and are worried about the number of celebrities who are now speaking out against it.
The insider told the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l: ''Lena Dunham, ROSIE O'DONNELL and Jane Lynch all tweeted supporting Kathy. That's not good. E! can't survive without celebrity cooperation.''
Meanwhile, Giuliana would be ''happy to go'' too to after receiving harsh criticism for her comments about Zendaya, which were written into her script by producers.
The source added: '''Fashion Police' is an albatross around her neck. She's like, let the thing die already.''
