Katy Perry has made a rare public reflection on her split from ex-husband Russell Brand in a new interview, and it seems that she’s got no time for wallowing in sadness and generally prefers to not waste her time talking about it.

The pop superstar was talking to the Sydney Daily Telegraph at the weekend, and revealed that she hasn’t spoken to Brand at all since their 2012 divorce. “He hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce,” she told the publication. “I don't want to talk about him - my songs will say what I need to say.”

Pop star Katy Perry has failed in a bid to register a “Left Shark” design as a trademark, in an attempt to cash in on the internet phenomenon sparked by her Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year.

Back in February, one of the singer’s two back-up dancers dressed as a cute cartoon shark seemed to have forgotten his choreography, throwing some rather erratic moves compared to the other. The incident was dubbed “Left Shark” and was the most talked-about event of the evening on social media, eclipsing the game itself and spawning a ton of internet memes.

Robert Pattinson headed to the desert on Saturday night, to support his rumoured fiancée FKA Twigs as she made her Coachella debut. The Twilight star was spotted in the audience enjoying his girlfriend’s set along with friends including singer Katy Perry.

Leaked photographs of Cindy Crawford posing in lingerie have been leaked online. The completely untouched image was leaked on Twitter by ITV News Anchor Charlene White on Friday (13th Ferbuary). The photo, which shows Crawford posing in a black bra and matching knickers, was taken at a Marie Claire shoot in 2013. The magazine has confirmed the image is from their magazine and was 100% untouched.

The Super Bowl is possibly the most anticipated and well-known sporting event of every year; a game of American Football, set to decide the National Football League champion team for that season. On 1st February 2014, the New England Patriots fought the Seattle Seahawks for the title, in a game that saw Quarterback Tom Brady win his fourth Super Bowl and third Super Bowl MVP award. Missy Elliott will be joining Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz on stage during the Super Bowl half-time show, according to a source speaking to the Associated Press. 43-year-old Elliott will be a "surprise guest" at the big game's entertainment on Sunday (1st February). The source, someone "familiar with the plans" for the entertainment, claimed Elliott will be performing alongside Perry during one of her songs. Elliott has previously worked with Perry on a remix of 'Last Friday Night T.G.I.F.' but it is uncertain which track she will feature on at the half time show.

John Mayer has addressed the news that his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry is planning on writing songs inspired by their relationship. The singer songwriter is usually pretty guarded about his personal life but for some reason felt comfortable talking to a TMZ pap about his famous exes and how some choose to write songs about him.

Today, Lorde has tried to prove to her fans that Photoshop perfection is not something to aspire to and that "flaws are ok" in selfies and photos. To illustrate her point, the singer posted two photos of herself performing at one concert on Twitter, one of which had been edited to perfection and the other showed off the young pop star's natural look.

5 Seconds of Summer are on target to claim a number one single in the UK this week, with their hit track 'She Looks So Perfect.' The Australian boyband's catchy new single is selling extremely well in Britain with a reported 71,000 copies of their track shifted, according to the Official Charts Company. That's a lot more than the week's second best-selling single so far, fellow new entry 'Changes' by Faul & Wad Ad vs Pnau which has sold 45,000 units so far.

The poppy foursome have managed to dethrone last week's number one, Duke Dumont's 'I Got U Ft. Jax Jones,' which was relegated to third place. Female celebrities just can’t get it right these days. Not only are they meant to pursue their own careers as actresses, singers or whatever else their profession may be, now they’re expected to be political activists as well. Everything they do must be related back to how much of a ‘feminist’ they are: each action is assessed for its level of feminism; each quote dissected to discuss what could possibly be seen as damaging or encouraging to young female fans.

Katy Perry is on the receiving end this week, firstly because in 2012 she refused to call herself a feminist and now because she does...but she doesn’t really know what it means. In 2012 Katy told Billboard magazine, “I am not a feminist, but I do believe in the strength of women.” Big mistake. The feminist blogosphere erupted, slamming Katy for being a bad role model. She learned her lesson though, when asked on Sunday whether she is a feminist, Katy’s response was, “A feminist? Uh, yeah, actually. I used to not really understand what that word meant, and now that I do, it just means that I love myself as a female and I also love men.”  Um, well, wrong again.

John Mayer is taking legal action after it emerged that what he thought were vintage Rolex watches were fakes in a scam that has affected celebrities all over Hollywood. The singer-songwriter is reportedly suing jewellery dealer Robert Maron, a friend to actor Charlie Sheen, who allegedly supplied the phony timepieces.

Since his first purchase in 2007, Mayer is said to have spent $5 million buying watches for himself and others before he realised the hoax. Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry have known each other for years. The pair have been photographed together at events since long before Miley was the peroxide party girl that she is today. That’s why we don’t know whether to take their brewing Twitter feud with a pinch of salt or if these two really are headed for a serious fall out. It all started at Miley’s recent L.A. performance when she dived in to give Perry a full on smooch, and we’re guessing, since this is Miley we’re talking about, that she meant it to be tongues and all!  Katy wasn’t at all impressed or interested and immediately yanked her head away from Cyrus before laughing off Miley’s intrusive move.

Lorde has officially become the first music entertainer to have a debut album reach more than a million in sells since October. The singer is also the first woman to reach over a million copies for a debut album since Adele in April 2011. The album is currently sitting at number six on the Billboard 200 charts right behind Beyonce's album.

If this news is anythign to go by, women singers may be off to a good start this year in terms of album sells. Beyonce ended 2013 as the only woman to sell a million album copies. However, for the year 2014 Lorde is the second woman to have over a million albums sold. Katy Perry's second album "PRISM" also sold over a million copies.

Katy Perry's new music video 'Dark Horse' is making headlines across the world for all the wrong reasons. An online petition has attracted nearly 60,000 signatures calling for YouTube to remove 'Dark Horse' from its site. Shazad Iqbal, of Bradford in the UK, launched the petition in the name of blasphemy, saying the treatment of an "Allah" necklace seen worn in the clip is offensive to Muslims.

There’s been a ton of buzz around New Zealand singer and songwriter, Lorde, since her first EP The Love Club came out in November 2012. Katy Perry appeared as the cover girl for the February issue of GQ magazine, where amongst other things, she revealed that she genuinely believes in extraterrestrial beings and that we are not alone. She also spoke about praying for large breasts, regretting that prayer in later life, her dislike of cannabis, losing her virginity, the beginnings of her career and much more, but it was her other worldly beliefs that has caught on.

The People's Choice Awards kicks started awards season and the celebrities didn't let down as they came out in force and with style in Los Angeles for the fan-favourites awards show on Wednesday, 8 January. The 40th incarnation of the awards show, there was no shortage of class and glamour as the people's favourite movies, TV shows, actors and actresses were singled out over the course of the night.

Hosted by 2 Broke Girls stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, the awards show held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles gave out almost 60 awards in total, and with four wins in all it was Sandra Bullock who ended the night with the most wins of all. Bullock's wins included Favorite Movie Actress, Comedic Actress, Dramatic Actress and she shared the Favorite Movie Duo award with her Gravity co-star George Clooney. The buddy cop comedy The Heat that she starred in with Melissa McCarthy won the Favourite Comedic Movie award.

Katy Perry's latest studio album 'Prism' is one about heartache and healing, she will now be taking that message on the road with a tour scheduled for 2014.

Since Perry's last tour her personal life has improved dramatically, she was battling with a divorce from British comedian Russell Brand while touring for her 'Teenage Dream' album.

The 'Unconditionally' singer features as the cover girl 'Marie Claire' for January, and in a candid interview she reveals, "There were two weeks of my life after I found out the truth of my marriage where I was like, 'OK. All right. I can't feel this. This is too intense right now.'"

Katy Perry will bring her Prism tour to the UK next year, announcing the dates for her upcoming shows through her official Twitter page yesterday (18 Nov.). The UK dates are the first to be unveiled by Perry as part of her Prismatic World Tour, with the full dates for her globe-covering tour expected to be announced by Perry in the coming weeks.

Following Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' trilogy and the recent Superman epic 'Man Of Steel', there seems to be one obvious direction to go in next for DC Comics with their film franchises: a Wonder Woman movie, of course. The Amazonian knockout was first portrayed successfully by Lynda Carter in the TV series between 1975 and 1979, and it hasn't yet been put to cinema neither as a solo project for the character nor as a Justice League of America set-up. There have been all sorts of rumours flying about recently with Jaimie Alexander talking a lot about the supposed upcoming Wonder Woman movie and we've got pretty excited discussing who might be considered for the role.

Jaimie Alexander: The 'Thor' actress has set tongues wagging as she gushed about the character in an interview with Forbes. 'I would love for DC to put Wonder Woman in one of their upcoming flicks, either in her own movie or Batman vs. Superman, or just something even to introduce her', she said. Batman vs. Superman, hmm? Does she know something we don't? On the suggestion that she could be the one to play her, she insisted, 'I'm appreciative to the people who ask my opinion of the character, and that's been pretty amazing.' Jaimie would be perfect for the role given her portrayal of Asgardian strong-woman Sif in the 'Thor' movies, and she even bears an interesting resemblance to Lucy Lawless as 90s TV hero Xena, Warrior Princess.

The news that Perry is Twitter's most popular user coincides with the company's imminent float on the New York Stock Exchange. The microblogging network intends to price its shares on Wednesday for trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, Reuters' sources report.
