The stars turned out at Barclays Center last night for Marvel Universe Live! – an action-packed live show that will tour arenas in 85 US cities over the next two years and features more than 25 Marvel superheroes and villains in an original story.

The show, having made a solid start, is sure to sell out those nationwide arenas, especially with Marvel’s film franchises performing so well at box offices over the past decade. But different movie studios have the rights to use various characters, which means there is only one way fans can see all of them in one show.

"Marvel Universe Live is the first and only place where you can see The Avengers, Spiderman, and members of The X-Team come together," said producer Juliette Feld. "I grew up around Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus and Disney On Ice, and I've always had a love for it. You know I'm very lucky because I get to work alongside my dad and my sister," she added.

According to the show’s website, it promises to “captivate audiences with an authentic and original story that brings more than 25 Marvel characters together on one epic quest.” Performer Madison Embrey, who just graduated from Manhattan's Pace University, said of the show: "I had the pleasure of seeing it being built over the last four years. To know that I'm going to be in the arena performing for audiences, it's indescribable how that feels," she said.

One of the biggest stars in attendance last night was Katie Holmes, who made time to meet with children from New York's Sunrise Day Camp - the only full summer day camp dedicated in the US for children with cancer.
