Katie Couric To Marry John Molner In Summer 2014

Katie Couric Howard Stern

Katie Couric has revealed she will be marrying John Molner in Summer 2014, whilst attending Howard Stern's 60th Birthday Bash on Friday (31st January).

Sten asked when the couple were going to get married to which, as People reports, Couric said "Summer!" Stern then questioned her about the wedding ceremony and if he were to be invited. Sadly, Couric turned him down as the ceremony will be "family only." Although she did promise him an invite to the reception!

Molner accompanied his fiancé to the star studded birthday bash and Stern even offered to marry the two of them there and then. Molner, sitting in the crowd, immediately called out "Yes!" and attracted Stern's attention. Stern questioned the banker a number of times on "What's it like to make love to America's sweetheart?" Molner attempted to avoid the question by claiming the two would only comsumate their relationship on their wedding night. However, Stern did not let the matter drop and finally Molner admitted "Making love to America's sweetheart is amazing!"

ABC Regular Katie Couric Negotiating Exit From The Network To Work In Digital Media

Katie Couric

Katie Couric has been a staple at ABC for close to three years now, after landing a lucrative deal, which includes a daytime talk show and an ABC news spot. According to The Hollywood Reporter however, the accomplished journalist is now negotiating her exit from the network. Unnamed sources for THR claim that Couric is in the final stages of securing a deal with online information giant Yahoo!, which seems like a savvy move on Couric’s part, given the rapid rise of online entertainment and news distribution over the past decade.

The current second season of Couric’s ABC show Katie is set to be its last, with executives deciding the fate of the programme in December, following November sweeps. Couric will definitely get to finish the current season. The provisions of the Couric’s original contract with ABC included two years of Katie and three years at ABC News, but she will most likely be making an early exit. It is unclear what kind of settlement payment (if any) she will walk away with in this case, as the amount of the original contract is also unknown, although according to THR, it is somewhere in the neighborhood of $40 million.

After a tense rivalry with NBC, Couric’s original network, in 2012 ABC won the host and included her in various segments throughout the network, however her presence has been used sparingly in recent months, prompting early speculation that she may be leaving the network,

Katie Couric On The Dating Scene And Her Brief Encounter With Jeff Probst

Katie Couric Jeff Probst

It always feels a bit strange when celebrities open up about their dating lives, but when it’s Katie Couric, everyone pays attention. The journalist and talkshow host apparently has quite an extensive little black book, featuring names like Larry Kind and Bob Saget, among others. Like any woman on the dating circuit, however, Couric has also had her fair share of unsuccessful dates. She told one such amusing story, with a cameo from Survivor host Jeff Probst, on Howard Stern’s radio show on Sirius FM. Let’s just say even stars can have the occasional odd encounter. "He had puka shells on," she recalled. "That was kind of a weird thing."

But, never one to take a hit lying down, Probst reportedly called into Us Weekly the next day to tell his side of the story and explain why there was never a second date. "Katie and I were set up by a mutual friend several years ago. In fact, I don't know if Katie remembers, but that same friend originally tried to set us up way back in 2001," he wrote. "I remember because we were filming Survivor in Kenya which is cool enough -- add to that a date with Katie Couric -- it had the makings of a pretty epic summer. But the timing never worked out and so we never met."

Apparently the romance was ill-fated from the onset. Still, Probst and Couric didn’t leave it at that, as he further explained. "What I remember most about the date is how nervous I was and how little I offered to the conversation," Probst recalled. "It was like I forgot how to go on a date. Like I was 14. We talked a bit about her kids and the challenges of being a parent to teenagers, and we talked a bit about our careers and lifestyles but we never got much beyond the surface."

Robert De Niro Tears Up Discussing Bipolar Disorder On Katie

Robert De Niro Katie Couric David O Russell

Silver Linings Playbook has been out a few months, racked up some fine box office figures and is heading towards the Oscars with a chance of glory – but Robert De Niro still gets teary-eyed thinking about its content matter.

De Niro was with director David O Russell and co-star Bradley Cooper on Katie Couric’s show Katie, to talk about the Oscar-nominated film, which deals with issues of bipolar disorder. O Russell’s son suffers from bipolar, and De Niro was asked if he felt a greater responsibility in the film because of that. "Of course, I um –- I understand," replied De Niro said while becoming dewy-eyed. "I don't like to get emotional," the usually stoic actor said, while getting choked up. "But I know exactly what he goes through."

Russell stepped in and confirmed that this wasn’t the first time De Niro had gotten emotional thinking about the subject matter. "When I first was in his apartment and I was talking about the screenplay this what happened," the 54 year-old commented. "And I thought he was having Hay Fever and I realized he was having an emotional reaction. I sat there and I watched Robert De Niro cry for 10 minutes. And I said, Wow, he's really connecting with this material and this could be a beautiful thing if it worked out." And you have to admit that it really has. But to what extent? We’ll find out on Oscars night, February 24.

What Made Robert De Niro Cry On Katie Couric Show?

Robert De Niro Katie Couric Bradley Cooper David O Russell

When Katie Couric invited Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper and David O. Russell on to her chat show to talk about the Oscar nominated Silver Linings Playbook, she probably did not expect to be passing a hanky to a crying Robert De Niro. That’s exactly what did happen though, on the show, which aired yesterday. After listening to David speaking about his experiences of having a son with bipolar disorder, DeNiro was unable to answer Couric’s next question, as he was too emotional.

Choking back tears, DeNiro didn’t explain much about his own experiences, but said “I don't like to get emotional, but I know exactly what [Russell] goes through.” Bradley Cooper, sat next to him on the sofa, leant over and patted his co-star on the back to comfort him and appeared to get tearful himself. The movie’s director, David O. Russell picked up the answer, sensing that DeNiro was unable to end the silence himself. “When I first was in (Robert DeNiro’s) apartment and I was talking to him about the screenplay, this is what happened. “I thought he was having hay fever, then I realized he was having an emotional reaction and I sat there and watched Robert De Niro cry for 10 minutes and I said, 'Wow he's really connecting with this material and this would be beautiful thing if it could work out, because I think his heart would be there' and it is there.”

Silver Linings Playbook, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, has been nominated for eight Academy Awards. The awards ceremony is held on February 24, 2013.

Anderson Cooper's Daytime Chat Show Cancelled

Anderson Cooper Ellen Degeneres Katie Couric Dr Phil

Yesterday (29th Oct. 2012) Anderson Live, the daytime chat show eponymously hosted by Anderson Cooper, was officially cancelled. Ratings for the news anchor's show just never really kicked off. Format changes, including a name change from just 'Anderson' to 'Anderson Live', were clearly not enough to nudge it into nationwide popularity.

Reported in the Chicago Tribute, Cooper said "I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons," and added that he looked forward "to doing more great shows this season ... I'm sorry that we won't be continuing." This followed the statement made by WarnerBros, stating "The series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become difficult to break through." Anderson Live was competing with mid-day heavyweights such as Ellen Degeneres' 'Ellen', Dr Phil's 'Dr Phil' nor Katie Couric's 'Katie' (all imaginatively titled, as you can see).

It's not the end of the world for Cooper who will still continue hosting his news program 'Anderson 360'. His career history includes international journalism, a lot of which was war reporting, including an award winning report from Sarajevo during the Bosnian war. A lot of his work is referred to in his 2006 memoir Dispatches From the Edge.

Neil Young, The Foo Fighters And The Black Keys Join-Up For Central Park Gig

Neil Young Foo Fighters Black Keys Dave Grohl Band Of Horses K'naan Selena Gomez Katie Couric

Central Park in New York set the stage for a rock triple threat in the shape of Neil Young, The Foo Fighters and The Black Keys, all of whom banded together for a benefit mini-fest, Great Lawn Saturday night, in aid of putting an end to global poverty.

An audience of over 60,000 squeezed into the massive green space in the middle of the Big Apple on Saturday (29th September) night for a five-hour concert, all for free! Well, there was one catch, but it only involved attendees having to register at the website 'The Global Poverty Project,' which looks to find a way to bring an end to extreme financial inequality across the globe. And if inviting 60,000 lucky guests along to the event wasn't enough, the concert was also streamed live online via a number of differing websites.

As well as the big three, which also involved an impromptu stage invasion by Dave Grohl during Neil Young and Crazy Horse's set, the line-up for the day also featured Band Of Horses and 'Wavin' Flag' singer/rapper K'naan. The night didn't lose track of what it stood for though, with celebrities including Selena Gomez and Katie Couric going up on stage between performances to discuss the ongoing financial struggle that is felt the world over.

Katie Couric Bulimia Battle Revealed: I Owe It To Viewers To Be Honest

Katie Couric Demi Lovato

Katie Couric’s bulimia battle became the subject of yesterday’s episode of her new syndicated chat show (September 24, 2012). Couric explained, in an interview with Associated Press, that she felt it was important for her to be as honest with her audience as she asks her guests to be. “I kind of hesitated to even bring it up,” she said of the eating disorder. “But I felt that if I expect people on my show to be honest, then, when relevant, I owe it to people watching to be honest myself… I wanted to focus on my guests, while acknowledging one of the reasons this issue is so important to me: I went through it."

Couric explained that she first started struggling with the illness when she was rejected by her first choice of college. “Like a lot of young women, I was struggling with my body image," she said, "and feeling like I wasn't good enough or attractive enough or thin enough.” Couric managed to control the problem with the help of a therapist and explains “I've learned how to have a much healthier relationship with food, and how to enjoy my life without obsessing about food.”

Couric was joined by Demi Lovato for the show, as she placed the focus on the show’s guests, rather than on herself. The young X Factor judge is known to have suffered with bulimia herself, so agreed to appear on Couric’s chat show to discuss her experiences with her own body image issues.

Jessica Simpson Shows Off Cute Pictures Of Maxwell On Fiance's Birthday

Jessica Simpson Eric Johnson Katie Couric

Jessica Simpson has been proudly showing off her baby girl Maxwell in photos from her fiance Eric Johnson's 33rd birthday.

The singer/actress and her husband-to-be seem beyond happy with their 4-month-old firstborn in the black and white snaps posted on Jessica's lifestyle blog. One picture showed Eric smiling down at his daughter who he is holding in his arms with the caption, 'Daddy's 33rd Birthday!' Another photo shows Jessica, 32, with her child beneath another caption reading: 'Last year at Daddy's party, Maxwell was in my belly. This year she's in my arms!' She has also been sharing Maxwell with her Twitter followers with one image showing her and the happy parents smiling with a firework display behind them.

Although the star seems thrilled with her new life as a mother, losing her post-pregnancy baby weight has been less of a smooth ride. However, she has since embarked on a weight loss programme with Weight Watchers and has reportedly lost over 40 pounds since giving birth to Maxwell. She showed off her new figure on the Katie Couric show 'Katie' and remarked that she was told by doctors that her weight was 'a lot of water' which didn't all come out during the birth. 'I put on more baby weight than I was planning on putting on so I think that I really have to separate myself from the world's expectations and really just look inside of myself and have a relationship with myself and be healthy with myself. That is really important because I want to be a phenomenal role model for my child', she said.
