Kathy Griffin is ''still p***ed off'' over Melissa Rivers' recent comments about her stint on 'Fashion Police'.
The 54-year-old comedienne was recently accused of having ''s**t all over'' the producer's mother Joan Rivers' legacy with her brief stint on the show and the outspoken redhead is very ''upset'' over the remarks.
A source said: ''Kathy is still legitimately p***ed off and upset by Melissa Rivers' words.
''She doesn't think it was fair or professional of her to go and put Kathy on blast like that and that she was just trying to get some hype for the show.''
Kathy believes it would have been more disrespectful to Joan, who died last September following complications from surgery, to have stayed on the programme any longer than the seven episodes she completed.
The source added to RadarOnline.com: ''Kathy feels that she was not left with any other option and to stay on the show would disgrace Joan's legacy more than leaving it ever could.''
Melissa, 47, recently slammed Kathy for her short stint on the programme and admitted she was unhappy with some of the comic's comments after she left.
She said: ''I'm just gonna say it wasn't a match on a lot of levels.
''My biggest complaint was the feeling that she kind of s*** all over my mother's legacy in her statement on leaving. And I know that was not an intentional reading of it, but that's how I felt ... by calling the comedy and the style of it old-fashioned. It was like, I understand what you were doing, you're trying to save yourself, but don't c**p all over my mother to do it.''
